Dana & Colten

Family Type: Heterosexual Couple
State we live in: Michigan

dear expectant mother

We know and understand that you are likely not where you thought you would be, and we don’t take your decision lightly. We want to assure you that this baby will be so loved, not just by us but our families as well. We hope any child we raise will grow up in an environment that is happy and fulfilling, and they will be afforded any opportunities we can provide.

Our wish is for the baby we adopt to join us during our summer adventures, whether that is running 5Ks with us when they are older, going camping with the dogs, or playing board games at home. We will do everything in our power to give this child the best life possible. We sincerely appreciate the care and painstaking time you are taking to choose potential parents for your child, and we hope we can relieve some of your worries and fears.

Should you choose us, just know that we are excited at the opportunity to talk with you and get to know you a little bit better. We promise to respect you and whatever level of contact you choose to have with your child. Just know that we will cherish, love, and support this child with everything we have in our hearts. We can’t thank you enough for considering us.

We will do everything in our power to give this child the best life possible.

About Us

We are both outgoing and slightly competitive. We like a good, healthy competition but also like to have fun and relax. We both work in healthcare, as a pharmacist and in ambulatory infusion care. We like to spend time outdoors with all our pets. We run 5Ks together, attend a book club, and generally spend our weekends hosting games nights at our house with family and friends. When we aren’t spending time together, we like to play video games and to take the camera out and go exploring. We are currently working through a 100 dates poster that was given to us for Christmas, and it has been very fun to try new things.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is a five-bedroom, two-bathroom house with a finished basement and a large, fenced-in backyard. We have several fruit trees, including apple, pear, mini pear, and peach trees. We like to rescue animals, so currently we have three dogs. We also have three cats. Most recently we rescued two rabbits and converted our outdoor shed into a rabbit hutch so they have access to warmth but can still run around outside in a safe environment. The school district we live in is one of the top-rated districts in the state, and we live about ten minutes away from any of the major events that happen downtown. There is always something to do, and it’s the thing we love most about where we live.

Our Extended Family

To make a long story short, our extended family is extensive. We essentially have three sets of parents. We also collectively have eight siblings as well as a gaggle of aunts, uncles, and cousins. We do not lack for family, and everyone lives within thirty to forty-five minutes of each other.

We host a lot of board game nights with our families and also began hosting a yearly barbecue for all of our family to get together. We play backyard games, cook food, sit around a fire, and all around just have a good time. It has been nice to have our three families come together and get to know each other. We will have a great resource and support system of help.

What Led Us To Adoption

It has always been our intention to start our family by adopting. As a couple who have experience with being adopted and with several family members who are adopted, we believe welcoming a child into our home through adoption is right for us. We feel we have the time, patience, and ability to provide a loving and stable environment for your child and are so excited to begin our adoption journey.
