dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Although we grew up in two different states and did not meet one another until a few years ago, we both knew we wanted two things more than anything: We wanted to find someone, fall in love, and get married, and we both wanted to be dads. When we met and fell in love and got married, we knew it was going to be just a matter of time until we pursued having a baby.

While we know your decision might not be an easy one. We recognize that, respect it, and will do whatever we can to help you know your baby is in the best care if you choose us. Your child will never be in want or need of anything as we will make sure we give them the most love any child could possibly get, and they will also be part of an amazing extended family where they will be loved by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, not to mention the countless aunts and uncles who are not blood related but chosen family who are also excited and anxiously waiting to give so much love.

About Us

We are Adrian and David. Adrian owns his own salon and spa, while David is a pastor at their church and was an educator for over 21 years (now retired), most recently serving as a school principal for many years. He’s looking forward to being a stay-at-home dad. Adrian is trilingual and can speak English, Spanish, and German fluently, and he is also known for his “dad jokes,” love for kids, and huge heart for others. David is known as the extrovert who loves getting to know people, loves kids and loves Tarheel basketball. We love traveling, food, grilling, and spending time with our three fur babies as well as making sure we watch a sunset on the beach together at least once a week.

Our Home & Pets

Our new home in Florida is in a gated community, in a beautiful cul-de-sac with a huge fenced-in backyard with a lovely view of a small lake. We have three dogs we consider our kids. Olaf (8 years old), a French bulldog, is calm and lazy and loves people. Finley (7 years old) is a vizsla and the alpha female of the group. She is the protector and the diva but is the biggest lover and loves to cuddle. Lexie Rose (2 years old), a French bulldog, is still very much a puppy and a huge handful even though she is small. She gets along so well with her siblings and loves people as well.

Our Extended Family

Both of us have amazing families. Adrian’s family all lives in Florida, and we see them quite often. Adrian’s mom is from Spain and his dad is from Germany, which is how he can speak three languages. We are very close to them, and they are very involved and supportive in our lives. Adrian has two brothers and one sister; we have two nephews and two nieces on his side of the family.

David’s family all lives in western NC. We are very close to them as well, and although we don’t get to see them in person very often, we make sure we FaceTime with them almost daily. David’s parents are also very supportive and love us being together. David has two sisters, four nieces, two nephews, and one great-nephew on that side of the family. We try to visit them as often as we can, or they try to come visit us in Florida.

What Led Us To Adoption

We went back and forth between surrogacy and adoption and ultimately chose adoption due to all the great stories we have heard from people we know who have adopted. We can’t wait to be dads and grow our family. We are so excited to be on this journey.
