Dear Expectant Mother,

It is incredibly exciting to think this chance meeting between us could change all of our lives! We are grateful for the opportunity to share who we are with you with the hope that we might be destined to be the parents of your baby girl. Having been through the process before with our son, we have experienced the powerful beauty of adoption. You have already inspired us from afar with your strength, selflessness, and compassion.

We will take care of all your baby’s needs and will empower her to follow her dreams. Your baby will travel abroad, go skiing in the Colorado Rockies, backpack through the Utah red rocks, watch fireflies in the Ohio summer, ride horses with Sam, and learn woodworking with David. Ours is a home full of laughter, creativity, science projects, Legos, lots of animals, and infinite love.

Fate has brought us to this moment, with you reading our letter and us waiting to hear from the mother of our future child. We know this is a big decision, and we are extremely thankful to be considered. We have done this before, and we are here for you; your baby will always know how much love and respect we have for you. She will be our greatest treasure. Thank you!

About Us

David grew up in central Ohio, and Samantha is from the Colorado front range. While we were both in graduate school on opposite coasts, we met at a family New Year’s Eve party in Ohio. We made an instant connection, and despite 3,000 miles and a three-hour time difference, we fell in love and chose to be together forever. David is an architect and Sam is a veterinarian, so we balance each other through both art and science. We have three adorable and goofy children: Athena (4), Orion (2.5) and Felix (1). We were incredibly blessed to adopt Orion through LifeLong Adoptions in 2020. We share a passion for the outdoors, learning and education, and travel. We are also animal lovers, runners, and Harry Potter fans. We can’t wait to share all of these things and more with your little one!

Our Home & Pets

Our Colorado home is in a quiet neighborhood near the university hospital where Samantha works. As an architect, David is currently designing our dream home, which we plan to build within the next two years, and as a veterinarian, Sam is envisioning all of the animals we will fill it with! We will have several acres of land, which will house our horses, goats, chickens, dogs, cats, and more. Our current companions include an affectionate border collie mix, Cobalt, and two spunky orange cats named Copper and Cadmium. David’s beautiful design is environmentally conscious and centered around family life, with a room specifically created for your baby. Cobalt and the kitties can’t wait to meet the new addition!

Our Extended Family

David comes from an adventurous family of four children. He grew up in a house built by his dad, which is what inspired him to become an architect. Travel is a huge part of David’s family culture, from international trips chasing total solar eclipses to camping through Mexico and road trips out west on the family’s converted school bus. One of our most important family traditions is our three-day, costume-wearing, board game-playing, dance-until-4 a.m. New Year’s Eve bash!

Samantha’s family is equally close. She grew up skiing, horseback riding, and hiking in Colorado with her family, which includes her siblings and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Some of her favorite family traditions include Thanksgiving at Gram’s house around a giant table, summer road trips to visit family in Idaho, sledding behind the family’s mountain ski condo, the annual pre-Christmas cookie day with all of the cousins, and Sunday morning waffles with Sam’s mom.

We will share all of these traditions and make many of our own with your child. Both of our families have been touched by adoption, and they are as excited as we are to love your baby!

Our Adoption Story

Adoption was always the goal for our family and was realized for the first time in 2020 when we adopted our son Orion through LifeLong. Going through the adoption process brought us enormous joy, not only in the form of our loveable son but also through the relationship with his birthparents. Now we are ready to expand our family, and turning to adoption again is an easy choice for us. We believe diversity is strength, and our family will be enriched many times over through the inclusion of you and your baby. As part of our family, your baby will grow up with adoring siblings (including another adoptee) and will know your love for them was so powerful that you chose to entrust us with their care.
