dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

I am so very excited to connect with you. I am thrilled and honored you are reading my profile and considering me for this most monumental choice you are facing. I hope with all of my heart that you will come to a solid decision that feels right for you and your baby. I can only imagine this is the most difficult thing you’ve ever done. My wish is that I’ll be able to help in making you feel better about it by providing some comfort as you get to know me. I am filled with love that I am ready to bestow upon your baby should you determine that I am the right fit. I respect you and the difficult decision that lies ahead.

Kindest regards,
Debbie

About Me

I’m a loyal friend and have a solid and diverse network of people in my life who span the years. I love to enjoy myself and not get upset over little things. My personality is often dominated by humor. I’m friendly, dedicated, bright, ambitious, resilient and empathic. I accomplish what I set my mind to but do so with humility and respect. I took a position working from home as part of my adoption preparation. On the side, I have a non-profit with a great friend and television actor/creator. We write film and TV projects and give back to the youth, which is a big passion. I also care deeply about animal-welfare and the environment and donate in these areas. Healthy cooking and baking, interior design and dance are additional hobbies of mine.

My Home & Pets

I live in a beautiful, safe and diverse suburban neighborhood bordering the city, with award-winning schools. I bought my house in this neighborhood purposely planning to adopt in the near future. I have a 3-bedroom split level house with a nice backyard. There are several parks nearby, not to mention forest preserves with walking and bike trails. A community pool is down the street with waterslides for hot summer days. Children’s programs, museums, fairs and more are all easily accessible to where I live. I have two rescue cats who are now nine. They are gentle and loving creatures and get along wonderfully with each other. My future child’s room will be off limits to them.

My Extended Family

I am very close with my mom and dad, who have been married for a million years. We have a very special relationship and they’re extremely supportive in every way. They are very youthful for their age and are both in good health. They’re amazing role models, extremely active and wonderful people.

My aunt and uncle have three children who are all married with their own children. In fact, one of my cousins just had a baby last week and lives nearby. Another cousin has two young children and is also close. I have a brother who lives out of town. He has been married for 27 years and has two sons. He and his wife have a beautiful home in the mountains and it’s a lovely place to visit.

I also have several friends who are like family. Some I have known since childhood, some for twenty years; but they all provide family-like support for me, as I do for them. These friends ARE family and they are delighted and hopeful for me.

What Led Me To Adoption

I’m extremely excited and feel so ready to adopt. I have wanted this for some time now. Throughout my twenties and thirties I was focused on the work I was doing and the years got away from me. I never had biological children and ultimately left Los Angeles, returning to my hometown where I could be close to my relatives (specifically my parents), buy a home and begin adoption preparations. I am now at the point where I couldn’t be more ready or more thrilled to move forward with adoption. I’m honored to be considered by you, as I very much want to be an adoptive mother.
