dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We do not feel there are adequate words to express the gratitude we have for you. Because of your consideration of us, we may be able to grow our family. Your selfless actions are admirable and will never be taken for granted. We will always be connected, and as we begin our journey into motherhood, we will forever remember where it started. We promise to cherish your gift, if you choose us.

We have dreamed of the day we can start our family and raise a strong, confident, kind, and loving human being. We promise to provide a life full of adventure, travel, and exploration. Keri looks forward to singing Stevie Nicks lullabies, and Dillar can’t wait to make dinnertime spoon airplanes. We both can’t wait to see our baby’s first dance moves. Piper and Nelson can’t wait to have a new playmate, and we are all excited for family snuggle time!

As we kiss our baby goodnight, hug them, and work through the ups and downs in life, we will always remember the gift made possible by you. We thank you for considering us.

Because of your consideration of us, we may be able to grow our family. We promise to cherish your gift, if you choose us.

About Us

We had an instant connection when we met and have been building a wonderful life together since. Keri is an optimist with a buoyant personality. She’s passionate about music and often the first to start a dance party. She’s been working as a hairstylist for 23 years. Dillar is a seeker who loves adventure but is also focused on career development. She’s been a realtor for eight years and consistently takes on new challenges and learning opportunities. We strike a great balance together. We’re both strong and positive and have created a life that is stable yet fun. We continually seek new experiences—traveling, spending time outdoors, seeing live music, and exploring the surrounding areas. Our home is full of warmth, and we often host friends and family for dinner parties, holidays, birthdays, etc. We’re so fortunate to have found one other and are excited to grow our family.

Our Home & Pets

After two years of shopping for homes, we finally found the perfect place on the perfect street and knew the only thing missing was our child. We love the energy and sense of community on our cul-de-sac. It’s full of children riding bikes and playing hide and seek. Our backyard is our favorite part of our home. We have an outdoor cooking space and a cozy seating area. Our dogs, Nelson and Piper, love to look out our front windows and watch for squirrels. We are excited to share our holiday traditions, mostly spent at our home. We especially love to decorate for Halloween and Christmas. Our home has been kid tested and kid approved, and we can’t wait to make new memories here with our child!

Our Extended Family

We strongly believe family is not just biological. We’re both so fortunate to have strong relationships with family members but also to have an extended family made up of our close friends. They’ve been very supportive of our relationship and are excited to meet our child. We know they’re patiently waiting for our first family Halloween costumes!

Dillar’s mother lives close by and loves to stop by to spoil her granddogs with treats and dinners. Keri is very close with her brother, who joins us for holidays, vacations, and other important family occasions. He looks forward to being an uncle. We also have family in Washington State. Our nephews are ready for snowball fights, and Keri looks forward to sharing her love for the mountains. We’re eager to share all of the unconditional love of our our family and dear friends with our baby.

What Led Us To Adoption

We knew very early in our relationship that we wanted to have a child together. We know a biological connection is not what makes a family. After many conversations with friends who were adopted and with families who have adopted children, we know we want to adopt. From August 2019 to June 2020, we were fortunate to host a foreign exchange student with whom we made an amazing, lifelong connection. We made great memories and all learned and grew from the experience. This confirmed to us that family is not always biological. Adoption gives us hope that our family will soon be complete.
