dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

I want to first say thank you for considering me as your baby’s adoptive parent. I am proud of you for making what you think is the best decision for you and your baby. I am so grateful you are considering trusting me to raise and love your baby. I understand this is a hard decision for you, but I am so grateful.

I have had two failed adoptions through the foster system and want nothing more than to permanently love, cherish, and protect a baby I can raise. I am not able to physically have a biological baby. The gift you are considering giving me would be life changing, and you will not be forgotten. I am open to as much communication as you are comfortable with and will make sure your baby knows where they came from. I don’t know what circumstance led you to this decision, but I am here to support you on this journey.

About Me

My name is Edwonda, AKA “Wonda Woman.” I am an operations manager of a warehouse, where I oversee more than ninety employees. I have a schedule that allows me to have a good family/life balance because I work three days a week and am off four. In my free time, I enjoy spinning, zumba, and boxing. My favorite thing to do is watch movies and have dinner with friends, and I have a huge sneakerhead.

My Home

I live in Texas in a quiet neighborhood with a mix of old and young. I enjoy taking walks in the afternoon and seeing everyone enjoying the weather. I have a three-bedroom, two-bath house, so your baby will have their own bedroom and bathroom. We have beautiful rose gardens here in our city. I live alone, so your baby, should you choose me, will have all my love, dedication, and attention.

My Extended Family

I am the youngest of three children. My parents are both living and have been married for 35 years. My brother is the second oldest; he lives an hour away with his wife and two boys. My sister lives four hours away with her husband and daughter.

Two of my best friends live in the same city as me; one is my amazing babysitter and is a head nurse, so I trust her a lot. I get together with my cousins each year and do a cousins trip every other year. We have a family reunion where we all get together at my parents’ house.

What Led Me To Adoption

I have wanted to adopt ever since I was around 12 years old. I knew then I would adopt regardless of whether I had biological children or not. Unfortunately, I am not able to carry a biological child, which is why this is so important to me. I have had two failed foster adoptions, and this is what led me to you. I had my longest foster baby for almost a year, and I couldn’t wait to get off work and be with her. She was with me at all times and only needed the loving daycare I chose one day a week. I am so excited about this journey, and I can promise you they will get all the attention and love they deserve.
