Elisa & Carly

Family Type: Lesbian Couple
State We live in: Ohio

dear expectant mother

We can’t even begin to imagine what it is to be in your position. The only thing we know for certain is the love, respect, and security we will be able to provide your child if you choose us. Our future son or daughter will grow up knowing the strength you had to make this decision, and we will forever be grateful that you gave us the gift we have been dreaming of. We will forever speak of the brave birthmother who brought our lives together.

In our family, spring will be spent jumping in mud puddles, caring for newborn foals, and looking for four-leaf clovers while putting in a fence. Summer will be a time for roasting marshmallows over a fire, horse shows, BBQs in between loads of hay, and spraying each other with hoses as we cool our animals in the heat. Fall will bring the county fair, football season, hot cider, pumpkin patches, and taking in the changing landscape colors as we prepare the farm for the incoming chilly season. And in the winter, we will breathe in the cold air, thaw frozen water troughs in the fields, and use straw, baling twine, corn cobs, and carrots to build snowmen and snowhorses. Thank you for considering providing us with these future memories.

About Us

Elisa has a passion for education and sports. She has been in education first as a teacher and now as an administrator. She enjoys teaching students on the court and field and in the classroom and life. Elisa has earned her Ph.D. in educational leadership, policy, and justice. Carly is a second generation horsewoman, and her passion has always been with developing horses and riders as a career. She has worked for veterinarians, is a nationally registered EMT, is an apprentice farrier, and is now the head of her own business. We met six years ago, spending three years as friends as we both explored the world and our career paths. Together we have worked hard to obtain our dreams while being each other's biggest cheerleader. Our greatest wish is to start a family and welcome a child into our nurturing home.

Our Home & Pets

We own a farm in Ohio and live in a beautiful ranch house in front of our equine facility. Carly runs a horse training operation and lesson program. We have six horses, five of which are rescues, and we have one baby horse on the way in June 2021! We also have two goats, chickens, dogs, and cats. All of our animals are super loving and friendly. Our farm is a great way to learn about infinite and selfless love, responsibility, and confidence. Our son or daughter will have fun jumping with goats, collecting eggs from the chickens, running with the dogs, and riding horses. We are surrounded by immeasurable opportunities and adventures. “Mom, I’m bored” will never be heard in our home.

Our Extended Family

Elisa’s family owns a vacation home in Massachusetts. She has been visiting there ever since she was a kid, a tradition started with her dad when he was a child growing up with his family. This tradition has grown with Elisa and her brothers, and they now vacation there as a whole extended family. Carly’s family traditions include attending horse shows and the county fair, which foster so many great memories and friendships.

We also have started some of our own traditions, such as spending holidays on our farm with our loved ones, sharing laughs and family recipes. (Elisa’s family is Italian, and homemade pasta is always on the menu.) We can’t wait to keep these traditions alive as we hope to welcome your child into our family.

What Led Us To Adoption

From the beginning of our relationship, we knew starting a family was a passion and a priority of ours. Adoption was always the immediate path we both wanted to take when it came to planning for a family. We have spent so much time making our house into a home so we can experience the great love of starting the next chapter. We believe in building a family based on love, respect, and kindness and know our future child will receive all the support they need to achieve anything they wish.
