dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We are so grateful to you for looking at our profile and considering us as parents for your baby. We hope you’ve gotten a good idea of us as a warm, loving, kind couple who has a lot of love and support to offer you and your baby.

We both love to travel, our future child will see the beautiful sights of the U.S. and the world. We can’t wait to take our future family to Disney World, national parks, and international destinations. We love birthdays, and we’ll make sure your baby has a special birthday every year. We have a new fancy milkshake tradition: a milkshake with sprinkles, chocolate sauce, and a piece of cake on top for the birthday boy or girl.

Should you choose us for this blessing of becoming parents your baby will have support for whatever activities they show an interest in. Yesenia grew up playing sports, and Elise played music. We’ll introduce your child to a lot of opportunities and encourage them to learn what feels right for them. We’ll read to your baby every day, in both English and Spanish.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us as possible parents for your baby. It really means the world to us.

Elise & Yesenia

We are so hopeful about adoption, and we know it’s the right way for us to grow our family.

About Us

We’re a fun, happy, loving couple. We met at a wedding and at the time we lived in different states. We dated long distance for about a year. We FaceTimed for hours every day and traveled to spend time together to see if our relationship would work. When we decided it would, Elise moved to live closer to Yesenia. Three years later, we’re happily married with three dogs. Elise works in learning & development for a tech company, and Yesenia is an employee experience consultant. Our relationship is a great balance: Yesenia is lighthearted, fun, and great about planning for the future. Elise is organized, patient, and great at handling the day-to-day household needs. Most importantly, we love and support each other as we change and grow in our relationship and as individuals.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a beautiful neighborhood filled with trees, local shops, and green space. Our city hosts fun events and activities, like a contest encouraging families to explore fun seasonal activities and support local businesses. We have a beautiful fenced-in backyard and a patio with a grill. We love spending time there throwing a frisbee around between us or with our three senior dogs. Two of our dogs are shih tzus, and the other is a cocker/cavalier spaniel mix. They are all sweethearts, and they do great with kids.

Our Extended Family

Family is very important to us. We make sure to spend as much time with extended family as we can. Our families live in different places, so during the holiday season, we travel to each family (and in 2020 we spent time with everyone via Zoom!). Everyone in our families are excited for us to grow our family by adoption.

We’ve had fun combining our holiday traditions. Elise grew up with an artificial Christmas tree, and Yesenia’s family always got a real one. Elise’s family picks out a new ornament for the tree every year. Now we get a real tree every year, and we have an ornament from all of our Christmases together. We also love our bicultural household. We speak English and Spanish at home, and we eat a lot of Puerto Rican food. We can’t wait to teach our child both languages and all of the cultures that make up their background.

What Led Us To Adoption

We’re so excited to become parents. It’s very important to us to make sure the child(ren) we adopt know(s) about their biological roots. We want to help the child create a strong sense of identity as an adopted person. We see adoption as an opportunity to create a new, strong fabric of relationships around the shared love for a child, and we honestly can’t wait to be a part of that.
