Thank you for taking the time to view our profile. We hope this message finds you in good health and spirits. We cannot imagine how difficult this journey is, and we have so much respect for your decision to consider adoption. We hope that if you do choose our family, you may find comfort in knowing how much compassion we have for you as a mother.

We were blessed with a son who has taught us the joy of caring for, comforting, learning from, and nurturing a child, and we would be so lucky to be able to welcome your baby into our family. Your baby’s background and culture are important to us. We hope our education, values, and experience living in a diverse city will help us to honor you and your baby. As parents, we have always agreed we want to raise confident, caring, and kind children. We would be honored to be able to share these values with your child and provide a household full of joy, laughter, and unconditional love.

Again, we are very grateful you have taken the time to consider our family. Your choice gives couples such as ours the hope of having the family we have always dreamed of. We would be honored to share this journey with you, and we respect the difficult decision you must make. Please know we would love to walk alongside you on this journey so we can create a beautiful life for your baby in our home.

Your choice gives couples such as ours the hope of having the family we have always dreamed of.

About Us

Emily is from a small town in Michigan, and Andy grew up in Saint Louis. We found each other in Denver 12 years ago and were married in the Rocky Mountains. Despite being brought up in very different locations, we both come from loving, hardworking families. We welcomed a son, Harlan, six years ago, and we are grateful for him every day. Andy is a financial advisor who helps people meet their financial goals, and Emily is a crisis counselor who works for a non-profit organization supporting mental health and substance abuse needs. We both share an educational background in mental health and have a great respect for the importance of emotional well-being. Andy enjoys woodworking, DIY projects, and road trips. Emily enjoys reading, baking, gardening, and fishing. Harlan enjoys Legos, dinosaurs, and being outdoors. As a family, we enjoy hiking, camping, traveling to Michigan, swimming, and spending time in our backyard.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a two-story brick home located in a historic neighborhood. We have several restaurants, an ice cream parlor, a candy store, and a coffee shop all within walking distance. We live in a family-friendly community with lots of children on our block. Our home is filled with laughter, games, music, and cooking. We have a rabbit named Storm Trooper Stan who loves to run circles around our feet and four backyard chickens (Patsy, Eddie, Minerva, and Molly) who give us fresh eggs every day. We are blessed to live where there is a wealth of activities for children, including the zoo, aquarium, art museum, botanical gardens, and baseball stadium. Emily’s mother and stepfather also own a home four blocks away, where they spend the winter months.

Our Extended Family

Emily has a large family in Northern Michigan. She has five sisters and one brother. We spend several weeks out of the year in Michigan with our large family playing in the snow and spending time on the beautiful lake where Emily's mother and stepfather live. Andy comes from a smaller family with deep roots in Saint Louis.

Our family loves to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and all special occasions together. We spend Christmas and Thanksgiving in Saint Louis with Andy’s parents, two brothers and sister, and their children, enjoying a lot of chaotic fun, gifts, great traditional Saint Louis food, and so much laughter. Halloween is always a special holiday for our family. We love to be creative with costumes, carve pumpkins, and enjoy the neighborhood celebrations. The Fourth of July is one of our favorite holidays, which we spend in the small town where Emily grew up. The town holds a week-long festival filled with fireworks, picnics, baseball, and a special bike parade for kids. During the summer, we also spend a great deal of time camping with family, gathering in the outdoors to fish, share stories around the campfire, cook great food, and be in the comfort of nature.

What Led Us To Adoption

After struggling with secondary infertility and a devastating miscarriage, we decided we would love to adopt instead of pursuing fertility treatment. When we first discussed adoption, it immediately felt meant to be. Adoption seemed like a natural choice for our family, especially since Emily’s family was touched through adoption when her family adopted her eight-year-old cousin. Harlan is extremely excited to be a big brother and proudly tells everyone about our plans to adopt. Our family and friends have been extremely supportive and are very excited about our choice to adopt and grow our family.
