dear expectant mother

Thank you for considering us as potential parents for your child. We can only imagine what you’re going through and the emotions you’re experiencing. We appreciate your dedication to this journey. We have dreamed of expanding our family through adoption and are very excited for an opportunity to partner with you in this next chapter of life.

We promise to provide your child with unconditional love, stability, culture, education, adventures, and laughter! Our goal is to provide a home that allows your child to be creative, compassionate, and confident as they move through the world. Emma is excited to teach your child the beauty of nature, books, and crafting, and Josh is excited to share sports, video games, and cooking! We both grew up playing various sports, and we plan to provide the same opportunity for your child, if it’s something they are interested in. We look forward to being parents and sharing our love and family with your little one if you choose us.

We will do whatever we can to support and respect you. We want you to play whatever part you desire in your child’s life and look forward to continuing our relationship beyond this experience. This gift would not be possible without your courage and bravery, and we will always be thankful for you. Thank you again for considering us.

About Us

We met in Chicago in 2016 after both relocating from our hometowns. Josh was working as a steel mill manager, and Emma was working at a coffee shop. We were engaged in August 2019 during our first camping trip together in Wisconsin and began preparations for a big wedding for July 2020. Our wedding was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we took the opportunity to elope with the support of our families. We now live in South Carolina, close to Emma’s extended family, and we both work from home. Josh is a cybersecurity engineer, and Emma is a senior living administrator. We enjoy traveling, hiking, and spending time with our family, which we are very excited to expand!

Our Home & Pets

We are very thankful to own our home in a beautiful, diverse neighborhood in a growing suburb. Our neighborhood organizes events for families of all ages throughout the year. Most importantly, we live within 30 minutes of extended family and often get together for dinner or hikes. The school district is excellent and is building new schools to support the growing community. We have two sweet, older cats—Ivy and Simon—and a Corgi, Pumpkin. All our animals enjoy the company of our one-year-old niece, and Pumpkin loves children. We take Pumpkin on two walks a day through the neighborhood and enjoy kitty cuddles most nights. Our home is full of love!

Our Extended Family

We are blessed to have a large family that’s very involved in our lives! We live close to Emma’s aunt, uncle, cousins, and their children and spend all holidays and birthdays together. Emma’s parents have passed away, and she is very thankful for her extended family and Josh’s parents, who have taken her under their wing. Josh’s mom, dad, and sister visit us often from Indiana, often staying for a week (or three)! It's a treasured time we enjoy together as we work on small projects in the garden and reminisce.

Most summers we plan a big family beach trip near Charleston, SC, with extended family. Often more than ten adults and children attend! We also have a family home on the lake where we spend most weekends in the summer boating, water skiing, and enjoying time together. Family is one of our core values as a couple, and we cannot wait to share our loving family with your child!

What Led Us To Adoption

We have hoped to expand our family through adoption since we were children and are so excited for this opportunity! Adoption has been part of our story as we both have family through adoption. Josh’s sister, Elizabeth, was adopted exactly three years before he would be born. Emma’s cousins, brothers from Russia, were adopted in the late 1990s. Adoption has always been a dream for us, which was only reinforced when we learned we cannot have children biologically.
