dear expectant mother

We would like to thank you for considering us to raise your baby as a member of our family. You are carrying an amazing blessing, and we pray God will protect you and the baby growing and developing inside you.

Should you choose us, we look forward to providing a loving and secure family environment for your baby. It is our sincere wish to welcome another child to our family, regardless of race or gender. We want to share the joy and unconditional love of our family as well as provide solid educational support, opportunities, and experiences, giving your child the means to achieve success. We understand the importance of a supportive family and would like to emphasize that we will do everything in our power to provide your baby with a happy and fulfilling childhood as well as lifelong family bonds.

We are excited to share our family traditions, like making homemade pizzas, baking, and growing fruits and veggies in our garden, as well as activities like pumpkin carving, Easter egg dying and hunts, Christmas celebrations, camping, kayaking, hiking, and family vacations. Our neighborhood is such a great place for kids, where we enjoy lighting luminaires to line our streets so Santa knows where to drive his sleigh through the subdivision. We can’t wait to share those exciting and memorable times. We will always strive to make our home fun and safe. We are praying and trusting God’s guiding hand through this whole process.

About Us

We are an active family who enjoys spending time together, whether it’s running races, hiking, watching TV, or playing a board game. We met in college while on the track team; Aaron was a thrower, and Erika was a distance runner. Aaron is a fourth grade teacher who enjoys using his previous job as a construction worker to connect with students as well as to build things around our house. Erika has served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves for 23 years and taught middle school math for 10 years. She now works as an instructional specialist and will be retiring from the Marine Corps Reserves. Our son, Aaron Jr., is a sophomore and is active in cross country and JROTC. Our daughter Colette is a seventh grader and loves art and baking. Our daughter Concetta will be three in December and loves to sing and play outside.

Our Home & Pets

We have two dogs and lots of fish. Oreo is our eight-year-old short and chubby spaniel mix. LuLu is our five-year-old foxhound mix. Both dogs enjoy walks in our friendly neighborhood and cuddling when we watch movies. In addition to our indoor fish tank with glofish, this past spring we built a waterfall and dug a pond in the backyard as a family; we have enjoyed watching the koi and goldfish multiply since spring. Some of our favorite times are spent in our own backyard jumping on the trampoline, having bonfires, swinging on the hammock, gardening, and watching the fish. We also enjoy our Friday family pizza nights, where we make homemade pizza together and then watch movies and play board games.

Our Extended Family

Our families are physically distant from us, but we love traveling to see them and talking with them over video calls. Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter are some of our favorite times to travel to see family. When we get together, we enjoy large family dinners along with hiking and fishing. When we told our families about our desire to adopt, they were thrilled. We have had wonderful conversations with Erika’s parents and siblings recollecting when Erika’s younger brother and sister were adopted. Aaron’s family is equally excited.

On the holidays when we are unable to travel to be with family, we spend time with our neighborhood friends. We enjoy holiday activities like carving pumpkins, dying Easter eggs, and exchanging Christmas gifts, but we also reflect on the blessings God has given us. We are active members in our church and enjoy supporting the community through charity events, especially races. One of our favorite traditions has been giving our children the option of an experience for their birthday instead of presents. This has resulted in many great family trips to places like Disney World, New York City, and Los Angeles. We can’t wait to create more great memories!

What Led Us To Adoption

We are excited to add to our happy family. Children are such a special blessing. We both come from fairly large families, and two of Erika’s siblings were adopted. Growing up in large families has emphasized the uniqueness of individuals along with the special bond a family creates. God has blessed us with an amazing family already, but we have the love, compassion, and desire to expand it. Adoption is something we have talked about and considered throughout our entire marriage, but due to previous military obligations and moves, we never felt the timing was right. We have continued to pray about this decision and talk with our other children, and as Erika prepares to retire, we feel the time has come.
