dear expectant mother

Dear Friend,

No matter which family you choose, we want to thank you for considering adoption as a choice for your baby. Our hearts are full with love for you as you make this decision.

We’ve always had a desire for a large family. Each of our children was wanted and planned for, just as we are hoping and planning to welcome your baby into our family. We love each of our children for who they are. We are striving to teach them to be good people and to show love and understanding to everyone around them, and we encourage them to explore their own interests and talents.

The desire for a large family also contains our hopes for the future: that all our children, including your baby if you choose us, will continue to enjoy strong family connections as adults. We would count ourselves incredibly lucky if they all decided to live near each other and if there were regular family gatherings with them, their spouses, and their own children. We picture lively conversations around the dinner table with lots of laughter and stories shared with their children and nieces and nephews about the fights they had, the mischievous adventures they never told us about, and all the fun they had together. We hope you can see your little one as part of this family and all the love we have for each other.

Much love,
Jayson & Erin

Adoption has always been part of our family conversation. Jayson was adopted at four days old.

About Us

Jayson works as an architectural electrical engineer, which is a fancy title for saying he does the electrical and lighting information on blueprints that go out to contractors. Erin wears several hats in our household. She takes care of our home and finances. She has also been homeschooling three of our children after some interactions with the school left the kids feeling scared or uncertain about their classrooms. She also has worked as a math and science tutor on occasion. She left teaching after our second child arrived to be home because it made better financial sense for our family. Jayson enjoys reading to our girls. They read a variety of books together. It helps the girls get excited about reading, and they love this time together.

Our Home

Our home is in a new community. We have had the opportunity to get to know all the neighbors on the street. The kids love playing at the park and with other friends in the neighborhood. We live near a big city and have been able to enjoy the parks, concerts, beach, and sports events.

Our Extended Family

Erin grew up with a divorced single mother and a sister, but all of her maternal aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents were never farther than 20 minutes away. Family gatherings were frequent. Her desire is for our children to have similar familial relationships.

Jayson grew up with both parents and four siblings. As previously mentioned, all of the children were adopted. The sense of love and family connection is maintained by his parents, who are the center of his family. Our girls love spending time with their grandparents and cousins. A couple years ago, Jayson’s parents’ request for their anniversary was for everyone to come home so they could get new family pictures. It was a wonderful time for everyone.

What Led Us To Adoption

Adoption has always been part of our family conversation. Jayson was adopted at four days old. All of his siblings were adopted as well; there are a total of five kids in Jayson’s family. One of his sisters was born in South Korea. The bumps along the road to welcoming our four girls included fertility drugs to help us get pregnant. After working with a specialist, the possibility for natural children came to an end when Erin experienced problems that required a hysterectomy. However, it still leaves us with the strong feeling that someone is missing. We know now is the time we need to put words into action and move forward in the adoption process.
