Erin & Matt

Family Type: Heterosexual Couple
State we live in: Maine

dear expectant mother

Thank you so much for reading our profile and considering us. We know this cannot be an easy decision for you, and we appreciate that you took the time to get to know us a little better. We understand this is a difficult time and decision, and we applaud your strength, courage, and love. We wish you a full heart and peaceful mind as you are guided in your decision for your child.

If you choose us, know we will love and cherish your child and will protect and nurture him or her forever. We will ensure your child is happy and healthy, we will be in awe as he or she develops, and we will always be there to applaud accomplishments, hold a hand, wipe a tear, or give a hug. If you choose us, you will be giving us the opportunity to have a baby together and raise a child in the reflection of the deep love we have for each other.

If you choose us, you will be giving your baby a big sister who covets this important role in her life and a big brother with lots of big kid wisdom to share. There is nothing more special than the bond between siblings. You would be giving so much to Jackson and Ella, and they would give so much to your child.

There is nothing more special than the bond between siblings. You would be giving so much to Jackson and Ella, and they would give so much to your child.

About Us

We are an active, athletic, fun-loving couple from the great state of Maine. We both grew up in Maine and love experiencing everything Maine provides: breathtaking forest and mountain hikes, beautiful beach trips, laidback lake time, island adventures and even winter wanderings. We also love our time at home spent gardening, cooking, playing basketball, lego-ing, dance partying, and hanging together as a family. Erin works as a software design executive, and Matt is a former business analyst turned contractor. We have two children from Erin’s prior relationship, Jackson and Ella. Jackson is nine years old and loves video games, sports, legos, and movies. Ella is six years old and loves fancy clothes and baby dolls; she wants nothing more in life than to be a big sister. We all love each other deeply and have so much more love to give.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a lovely home in a historic area with family-friendly streets, nature preserves and hiking trails, and easy access to the schools, stores, restaurants, and more. We are right around the corner from the progressive school Jackson and Ella attend. We also have a “camp” less than an hour away on a beautiful lake, where we spend many weekends and summer weeks. Our days there consist of reading, fishing, boating, swimming, and s’mores. We also have three doggies: a 13-year-old chocolate Lab who holds court over our 11-month-old rescue dog and our 8-month-old pup. They are the sweetest dogs and love children. They bring us so much joy and are such an important part of our lives.

Our Extended Family

Both of us come from close extended families spread across the United States, and we enjoy traveling on a regular basis to visit or hosting when folks come to Maine. Erin has a sister who lives in DC and has three small children who are our close and beloved cousins. She also has a younger brother in Georgia and sister in Massachusetts, and we can’t wait until they give us more cousins! Erin’s parents are “Mimi” and “Poppa” and are a very active part of the kids’ lives as they host the best sleepovers, attend recitals and Little League games, and shower them with love at every possible opportunity.

Matt has two brothers, including one in Oregon who recently gave us a baby cousin and two more in Utah with cool kids of their own. Matt’s dad, “Grampy B,” is a regular part of our lives, visiting once a month, and Matt’s mom lives nearby as well and is our favorite dog hike partner.

We are a very close family and balance our schedules as much as possible to spend holidays together as well as plan getaways together when possible.

What Led Us To Adoption

When we met, Erin was a widowed single mother. Erin, Jackson, and Ella fell in love with Matt, and we have built our lovely life and family together. The only thing that would make our life even more complete would be the opportunity to have a baby and raise a child together. Adoption is our path to this dream. Furthermore, Jackson and Ella would have the opportunity to share in the joy and love of that child.
