About Us

We met in the fall of 2014 online. After a week of texting, we decided to meet for coffee and have been inseparable ever since. We are both hard-working individuals. Neil works in finance, and Gordon works in local government. Gordon has music in his blood. He is a self-taught pianist and guitarist and is excited to share his love for music with your little one. Neil loves art and, in his free time, loves to paint. Many of his paintings are hanging in our home, including the one Neil painted for Gordon for his birthday. We also love to travel. Specifically, we love going to our family cottage on the lake. Neil is a great cook, and although we love to go out to local restaurants, most nights we stay in for a home-cooked meal.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home in a suburb of a large city. With just under an acre of land filled with gardens, there is plenty of room to play. Penny, our two-year-old shepherd/Lab mix, enjoys running and playing fetch. Our home boasts a custom kitchen perfect for cooking dinner, baking cookies, and hosting family gatherings. Our home has a dedicated music room with our piano and guitars. We hope our love of music can be passed down. Our neighborhood is very quaint, with a small downtown, local restaurants, several parks, and shopping. The community is very active and child oriented. There are several festivals and parades the city hosts, and the schools are top notch.

Our Extended Family

Our extended family is awesome! And huge! Being from the same metro area, we have been fortunate to have our extended families as part of our daily lives. With many family members living right around the corner, it is not uncommon for us to have a spur-of-the-moment game night, beach party, or movie night. Family is extremely important to us, and we are excited to share our wonderful extended family with your baby. With a big family like ours, it is a guarantee that your little one, should you choose us, will have friends and support for life!

In the summertime, our whole family goes “up north” to the family cottage for a relaxing getaway. Grandpa is usually the one firing up the grill while the rest of the family is swimming and playing in the sand.

Christmas is another big time for us. Our families always make time to get together for presents, Christmas music, and, of course, food. It is not unusual to have 30+ people there to celebrate. It is always a blast to see our siblings’ and cousins’ kids tear open their presents with glee.

What Led Us To Adoption

From the very beginning, we have always wanted to expand our family beyond just the two of us. After settling into our careers and our home, we are ready to open our minds and hearts to a child. Because we both come from large, loving, and caring families, we could not see our lives without continuing the tradition. Our lives would not be complete without a little one to love, teach, guide, and help grow.
