dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Our appreciation for you considering us as the adoptive parents for your child is unending. It is truly a selfless act to consider adoption. We cannot understand how you feel or the path that you have taken to come to this decision, but we do recognize your strength and that you have made the decision for your child. We are excited to welcome a child into our home and to share our hearts with them.

Fostering a creative, supportive, and secure environment is important to us. Our home will be a place where your child will feel loved and grow as an individual to pursue whatever dreams they may have. Living on ten acres, they will have a world of their own to explore and build. Travel and appreciating culture are important to us, and we cannot wait to share our world experiences with your child as well. We understand that your child may have a different background and culture than our own, and we look forward to learning and teaching them about their background.

We want to support you in this journey to be as comfortable as possible by respecting your decisions. We truly thank you for this opportunity.

Our appreciation for you considering us as the adoptive parents for your child is unending. It is truly a selfless act to consider adoption.

About Us

Our first date was at the San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy, NYC, back in 2012. We both knew from that first date that we had a connection, one we have enjoyed building over the years through our shared love of travel, music, and animals. We have been one another’s biggest support as we each pursued our careers and hobbies. Greg is an emergency medicine physician, and Megan is a clinical social worker, focusing on children and families. Greg enjoys playing music at local venues, golfing, and 3D printing. Megan enjoys running, jiu jitsu, yoga, piano, and art. We are both calm people, and our home is often peaceful and relaxed. A typical day for us is spent playing with our animals, cooking, and engaging in any activity to spend more quality time together, especially outdoors.

Our Home & Pets

We are fortunate to have recently built our dream home on ten acres in a small equestrian community. It is a wonderful neighborhood with very caring and helpful neighbors and many young families. It is a close-knit community with seasonally hosted events. The local town is also very quaint yet growing, with many new families. It is a very safe and welcoming place. There are several different options for schools between the public school, which is rated well, and a few private schools we have already begun looking into for preparation for the future. We have many pets, including four cats, two dogs, and three guinea pigs, all of whom are very loving and gentle.

Our Extended Family

We both come from relatively small families. Megan has a half-brother and sister-in-law with whom she is close and two step-sisters who live nearby; they get together whenever possible. On Megan’s side, we have three nieces and three nephews. Megan has two cousins with whom she is close in age, and she is lucky for one to be a best friend. Megan is very close with one of her aunts, whom she considers a mother figure.

Greg has two siblings and is closest with his younger sister, who has two young children. We both enjoy being an aunt and uncle immensely. Greg is very close with his two aunts and two younger cousins. He has family in England as well from his father’s side.

When we are with family, we mostly enjoy having meals together and spending time in one another’s company, talking and possibly playing a card or board game. We find we do not need to be doing much to enjoy our time spent with family. We enjoy celebrating major Catholic holidays and try to make birthdays a big deal.

What Led Us To Adoption

We knew from early on that we both wanted to be parents and that one day we would like to start a family together. We waited until we were both out of school and Greg was finished with his residency to start family planning. Adoption was always an option for us, even prior to planning for a family, as Greg and his two siblings were all adopted. We both share a viewpoint that adoption is a wonderful way to expand our family while providing a child with a loving and stable home. After trying to get pregnant for over a year, we decided to pursue adoption to begin our family.
