dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We are so thankful for your openness to adoption and for looking at us as a potential family for your baby. We know this decision must be incredibly difficult and emotional. We want you to know we respect your choices with no judgment and are just thankful you want what’s best for your baby. If you choose us as your baby’s future parents, we will be there for you EVERY step of the way and want to support you however we can.

We can promise a loving home, one where we will teach integrity and honesty in all we do, one where community is a huge part of our value system, where athletics and an active lifestyle are encouraged and lived out, and where this child will learn to love dogs and respect all living creatures. We can also promise whatever trial or hardship might come upon your baby in the future, we will be there and do all we can to love and support them. No matter the choices made or direction they choose to go in life, we will always provide a safe place and a home.

You and your baby are in our prayers, and we hope nothing but the best for both the child that could and hopefully will be in our home and you—that you will find peace and happiness in your own life in whatever comes next.

We love the idea that family can be created in many different ways and want ours to grow.

About Us

We are Jaimie and Brian! Jaimie is a teacher as well as a cross country and track coach. Brian is an aircraft mechanic. We love dogs and love to hike, watch movies, and play games. Brian is a great cook, and Jaimie is a great eater. We are both very laid back, very honest, very dependable, and fiercely independent. We love spending time with our 18-month-old son, Levi. Jaimie is really into running and spikeball, and Brian loves to dirt bike. We both love to stay active, eat out, and see our families in California and Kansas. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Jaimie is fluent in ASL and mostly fluent in Spanish, and Brian is working on both!

Our Home & Pets

We live in Utah, and the best part about Utah is being right up next to the mountains where you can hike. It’s a very active and clean community here, and people are always playing sports and running or having BBQs with family and neighbors. We live in a great school district that Jaimie teaches in, so we are very involved. Our home is in a great spot with lots of kids on our street. We have three of the nicest dogs in the world, who love kids—especially kids giving them table scraps! We also have four chickens.

Our Extended Family

We have an amazing extended family, although they live far away. We make an effort to see everyone a lot, FaceTime, and chat on the phone. Both families love to FaceTime and see Levi as much as possible. Over holidays, we are able to see cousins and grandparents, play games, play spikeball and football, and go boating. We were both close to our grandparents; Jaimie called her grandpa every day until he passed away a few years ago. We have had amazing support with our first child, and everyone loves to be involved! Jaimie’s family is SUPER into athletics, and Brian’s family loves to head out on a lake trip every year. On one side there is a heritage of Judaism and Catholicism, and the other side is Protestant.

Jamie has two sisters and a brother. We love to debate, watch the same movies and compare reviews, and talk about the good times from growing up.

Brian has one sister and one brother. His brother had a chance to come stay with us for a few months last year, and it was so fun. His sister has kids close to Levi's age, so that’s been an amazing experience.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have family and friends who have adopted. Our first pregnancy with Levi was pretty rough, and we feel like we can give a great home to another baby. We love the idea that family can be created in many different ways and want ours to grow. Our adopted cousins have been huge blessings in our lives and the lives of our extended families.
