dear expectant mother

The most important thing we can say is thank you for considering making our dreams come true! We wanted to each say a few heartfelt words here, so the below comments are from us individually.

Growing up, I came from an extremely tight-knit family but, early in life, never felt the urge to have children of my own. I’ve focused much of my life on growing myself, both as an individual and within my career. Having the opportunity to foster a child for a year completely changed my perspective. I never imagined I would be able to love another human so deeply. Being a foster dad was my greatest accomplishment in life. Understanding how difficult this decision must be for you, words cannot express how thankful I am for you considering granting me that opportunity again. – Jake (Dada)

I know there must be a whirlwind of thoughts in your mind as you try to make the best decision for you and your child. As a foster parent, I sincerely understand that as a mother, this is a very important sacrifice for you. Know that your child will be raised by two fathers who have so much to give, and he or she will be provided unconditional love and encouraged to be themselves. As a young boy, I knew I wanted to be a father, and this has been my ultimate goal in life. Granting me the opportunity to provide cuddles, kisses, and even diaper changes would make my dream a reality. – Brandon (Papa)

About Us

We have been together for seven years and recently engaged. We’ve spent most of that time building the foundation of our lives as a couple. We enjoy date nights, traveling, cooking at home, nights on the couch, and spending time with our friends and family. As foster parents, we are occasionally blessed to provide babysitting for other foster families when needed. We spend evenings by the pool or in the yard with our dog, Dax, and on the couch with Natasha, our cat. Jake enjoys cooking, home projects, fitness, and working on his cars. Brandon’s hobbies include the gym, bike rides, and working in the yard. He also spends time advocating for children in foster care. Jake is a VP in the healthcare industry and has enjoyed working in the same sector for the past 14 years. Brandon is a VP in healthcare and has been in dentistry for the last 13 years.

Our Home & Pets

We moved to our current home two years ago, mostly to enjoy more outdoor space and due to the school district being #1 in North Texas. Our home contains five bedrooms and seven baths and sits within a planned community on a fully fenced one-acre lot. Many neighbors have become close friends, and most have children. Adjacent to our neighborhood is a large boating lake as well as nature/equestrian trails and a large playground and sports fields within walking distance. Our current kiddos include our dog Dax. He’s a big dog but has been amazing with little ones. Natasha is our Persian cat that Brandon has had for 13 years. She tends to do her own thing but sleeps with us every night.

Our Extended Family

We both come from large families. Jake has one brother, nine aunts and uncles, and over twenty first cousins. Growing up, every holiday, birthday, and major milestone was celebrated by a family get-together, which always involved food. We still spend time together during all major holidays, and Jake’s mother spends much of her vacation time in our home. Jake’s closest cousins have young families, so we love spending time with them and watching their families grow and mature.

Brandon is from West Texas. He has two brothers and is considered the “fun” uncle to three nieces, two nephews, and many cousins! As a Latin family, Brandon’s family traditions and staying connected are very important. Therefore, holidays and social events involve lots of food, having coffee, games, and laughter. As the oldest grandchild, his grandparents taught him the value of hard work, responsibility, and putting family first. Brandon’s immediate family, including his grandparents, visit often throughout the year.

What Led Us To Adoption

In 2021 we welcomed the most precious four-month-old foster placement into our home. Although we knew some things would change, we didn’t know what that meant for us until she went back home to live with her biological mother a year later. She brought out the best in our relationship, and we recognized we both could love deeply. We celebrated every milestone to the fullest extent, and we were proud to be her Dada and Papa. We recognize that having a child brings us so much joy, and being able to provide for a child is what will complete our family. We want to become parents and give a child unconditional love, support, and exciting opportunities.
