Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We cannot even begin to imagine all the emotions you must be experiencing. We hope we can support you in whatever way possible through your journey. Thank you for everything you are doing now for your baby. Thank you also for considering helping us grow our family. We would be thrilled to connect with you before, during, and after the birth if you are willing to meet us. If you need space and time, we understand and appreciate that too.

We are really excited to become dads. It feels like the natural next step for our family. We will raise our kids in a home that is filled with love, laughter, and meaningful time together. We want our children to feel safe and confident enough to be themselves. We plan to create memories together as a family through traveling, camping trips, and figuring out everyday, ordinary life together. Most importantly, we want our kids to be kind. We never know what someone else is going through. Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents.

About Us

We’re a fun, energetic, and kind couple. We met at a local dive bar (complete with pinball machines!) and immediately hit it off. Clint is smart, goofy, and driven. Jake is thoughtful, adventurous, and grounded. We share a love for hiking, traveling, running, backpacking, and board games. We prioritize spending time with family and close friends. We are always trying to learn new things, like remodeling a house, writing short stories, making candles, or building our own furniture! We also enjoy relaxing evenings at home together watching TV and playing video games. We both work in healthcare. Clint is an emergency room doctor, and Jake is a nurse in the operating room. We love our jobs and how much they connect us with our community.

Our Home & Pets

We live in Washington in a quiet suburb just 20 minutes away from a major city. Our home is at the end of a cul-de-sac surrounded by trees and a creek. We have a fenced-in backyard for our two dogs. Jemma is a lovable Bernedoodle and Deke, our newest addition, is an adorable, playful English pointer rescue. We have a friendly cat named Raz who likes to keep the dogs in line. We purposely chose our home because of its quiet location and its easy access to a large lake, multiple parks, and playgrounds. We’re also only a short walk to the elementary school and high school. The local school district is fantastic and one of the best in the region. We can drive to the beautiful mountains within a few hours for skiing, hiking, or camping.

Our Extended Family

We love our family! Jake comes from a large family with four siblings. Clint has two siblings. Together, we have seven nieces and nephews. We are always checking in with each other, sending jokes or photos, and planning time to be together. Additionally, we feel incredibly close with some of our work and school friends. We prioritize holidays and summer vacations with a little bit of everyone.

We look forward to our family beach week every summer. We also have a yearly friend vacation with 5-8 other families (all with little kids running around). We’ve made it a tradition to come together as an extended family over Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. We also love traveling. Throughout the year, we arrange our schedules to meet up with friends and family for trips around the U.S. and the world (Canary Islands, Mexico, Finland, and Greece, just to name a few!).

What Led Us To Adoption

On one of our first dates, we got lost in conversation about our own childhoods and our families. It was clear how much we both wanted to have kids in the future. Over the years, we’ve watched and helped our family and friends raise their children. We have so many wonderful role models who support us in our decision to become fathers. Adoption seemed like the natural choice for us. Our brother-in-law was adopted, Jake’s aunt adopted her two wonderful children, and Clint’s coworker shared her own heartfelt adoption journey with us. We would be honored to love, support, and protect any child we are lucky enough to have join our family. :)
