dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for the special gift you are considering giving us. Raising your child in a home in which they would receive unconditional love is our utmost desire. We are honored you would consider giving us the opportunity to grow our family through the miracle of adoption.

If you choose us to be parents to your precious baby, we will begin each morning singing “You Are My Sunshine.” This song describes the love we already feel in our hearts toward your baby and you for the precious gift you would be sharing with us. After Kristy’s parents adopted her, they sang this song to her from infancy throughout her whole childhood, and it created a special lifetime bond between her and her adoptive parents.

We look forward to the many experiences we will have with your baby over the years, including quality time spent jointly as a family and one-on-one father and mother time to develop individual relationships. Bonding time might include building Lego forts with a son or having tea parties with a daughter. We would enjoy exploring nature here in the Pacific Northwest, traveling to both domestic and international places together to experience different cultures, and we would be active parents cheering on your child in any extracurricular activities they choose to pursue.

If you choose us to be parents to your precious baby, we will begin each morning singing “You Are My Sunshine.” After Kristy’s parents adopted her, they sang this song to her from infancy throughout her whole childhood, and it created a special lifetime bond between her and her adoptive parents.

About Us

Jim is a Proserv engineer with a successful IT company, and Kristy is a part-time college student. After meeting online on the dating website eHarmony, we dated long distance for a few years, fell in love, and were married in September of 2005. This was the first marriage for Kristy and the second marriage for Jim. The country song that was sung at our wedding describes our love story: “God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you.” We know God’s perfect plan was what led us to each other, even after Jim experienced the hurt from his previous marriage. We are each other’s best friend and will do anything for each other. God blessed us by joining our lives together.

Our Home & Pets

Our townhome has a nice grassy area out back that we love to play catch in and cannot wait to be able to do so with a child. Occasionally we see deer and rabbits in the backyard from our sliding door, and we love to walk around the quiet neighborhood complex. Two important members of our household are our cats, Deezil and Copper, whom we love. We love playing with them and enjoy seeing them display affection for both us and each other. We are looking forward to their interaction with a child as well. They spend their lazy days sleeping in the sun that pours in our living room from the picture window and the sliding glass patio doors.

Our Extended Family

Spending holiday gatherings like Thanksgiving and Christmas with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins were some of our family’s most cherished memories created over the years. The personal connection developed with each member of our extended family enriched each of our lives, and we always felt strong bonds of family love and support between us all. We look forward to developing the same loving family relationships with your baby.

Our parents are relocating from the East Coast to Washington in their excitement and anticipation of having a present and active role as grandparents in the life of our child. Jim has many relatives within an hour of where we live in both Washington and Oregon, including an aunt and many cousins. We have frequent family gatherings with Jim’s extended family. Kristy has two siblings, two nephews, and a large extended family as well, with many cousins. Most of Kristy’s relatives reside on the East Coast, and we enjoy family gatherings with them as often as possible.

What Led Us To Adoption

It has always been our dream to grow our family through the miracle of adoption. We are unable to have biological children, but that hasn’t stopped us from wanting to be parents. We know what a wonderful gift adoption is because Kristy herself was adopted at the age of six months. We have seen the blessing of how adoption has created a complete family for Kristy’s aunt and uncle, having adopted two children around the same time Kristy was adopted. They now have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, a loving extended family that started with Kristy’s two cousins being adopted. We hope to have the same type of family someday with our child.
