Jason & Mandie

Family Type: Traditional
State we live in: California

dear expectant mother

This letter is perhaps the most important letter of our lives, and we have no idea how to start. We do know that whatever brought you to read this letter is an entirely selfless act, and we are truly humbled. We want to extend our gratitude for being open to being the most crucial part of our journey to becoming parents and a part of our already colorful blended family. The saying, “It takes a village to raise a child,” rings true in our family dynamic, and we believe the universe has brought us to this point of readiness in our relationship, home, and family life to start this journey with you.

Should you choose us, your child will know your vital role as well as our heartfelt appreciation for this connection and will always be surrounded by love, family, and the warmth of this grateful home. He or she will grow up with acceptance and emotional support. He or she will enjoy a colorful experience of the world, nature, the arts, education, and, of course, the companionship of our fluffy dogs and a big sister regularly popping in and out and taking an active role in your child’s life.

We are so grateful you have taken the time to read a bit about us. We thank you for heartfully considering us as prospective parents and eagerly await learning more about you and your hopes, dreams, and aspirations for your child.

With light and love,
Mandie & Jason

About Us

We met 12 years ago as artists working on a variety show production. Today we continue to create as artists in television, film, media, and education. We share a deep passion for family, the arts, and nature. Our family consists of us, Mandie’s 17-year-old daughter and ex-husband, and our three dogs. We know our family dynamic might sound unusual and confusing to decipher. However, it is less complicated in reality than at first glance. Mandie and her ex-husband remain best friends, business partners, and co-parents to their daughter. Jason stepped into the family dynamic and has been integral in raising Mandie’s daughter ever since, and we maintain a harmonious environment. We like to call ourselves The Core Four : )

Our Home & Pets

We are thrilled to live five minutes from the beach, mountains, and a farmers market. We live in a family-centric neighborhood, where children ride bikes safely on the street and create fun sidewalk chalk art. We’re also near prominent schools, parks, and community recreation. Both of us were raised surrounded by beautiful nature (Mandie grew up in Hawaii, Jason in Colorado), so we love the outdoors and spend as much time outside as we can. The activities we love and are excited to share are going to the beach, hiking, and playing with our three dogs, Rocky Balboa, Steve McQueen, and Rumi. Though we both work in media and entertainment, we keep media to a minimum in the home in favor of painting, reading, dancing, and arts and crafts.

Our Extended Family

In California, we enjoy a close-knit family dynamic. In Hawaii, we are surrounded by grandparents, aunties, uncles, and cousins. Hawaii is very much our home away from home. Every summer, we enjoy renting a beach house, where everyone joins in beach life. We love to catch and release crabs at night, make bonfires, and have all kinds of barbeque and cooking deliciousness.

Holidays are magical, and birthdays are a reason for special family gatherings. Family is always involved in creating meaningful moments and memories, especially for the children.

We raised an almost-18-year-old daughter as a co-parenting unit with her father. Our daughter has gracefully grown between our home and her father’s home. She is bright, strong-willed, and independent yet still enjoys the wonder of waking up to magical decorations and special gifts from Santa. Although she is college-bound, she has only applied for local universities because she is so excited at the prospect of being an older sister. She is not the only one filled with excitement. Our entire family is very engaged in the prospect of adopting.

What Led Us To Adoption

Both of us have personally experienced how beautiful and rewarding adoption can be firsthand. Mandie grew up with an adopted brother, and we are both godparents to an adopted baby girl. In his role as a former elementary school teacher, Jason also interacted with adopted children and their parents regularly and helped foster a loving, nurturing, and accepting environment. All of these instances allowed us to witness how great a gift adoption can be and have led us to dream of adopting ourselves. Our experiences have allowed us to see how adoption can truly enrich all people’s lives—the children, the parents, and their families and friends. We have been blessed with so much love and want nothing more than to share that with your child.
