Dear Expectant Mother,

First, we want to express our love and support for the path you have chosen to go down with respect and support for your decision and would be honored to become part of your journey. We have hoped and prayed for the chance to raise a child with love, respect, and support and to nurture them as they grow into who they are meant to become. No child or parent is going to be perfect; we will learn and grow with this child, and they will be supported and encouraged to excel wherever they find their passion. With our professions, we are lifelong learners, and we hope to impress that love of learning on this young child.

About Us

We met in college marching band and have been inseparable ever since. We are both engineers and will nerd out talking to each other about our projects. We both love being outdoors. In the summer, you can find us in a tent, on a trail hiking, gardening, or on the water, stand up paddle boarding. In the winter, we love skiing, baking, playing games, and watching football. You can also find us creating music with one of the instruments we both continue to play. One of the things we are most looking forward to about having a child is watching them discover music and the joy creating it can bring. We are caring people who enjoy having fun learning, traveling, and just being us. Whether in our career or in our hobbies, we are always there to encourage each other.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a small city in Ohio in a three-bedroom home. Our neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Our neighbors always say hello to us when we are out in the yard. They also have dogs who love attention and bark hello when they see us, sometimes even getting us to play fetch. The city square is welcoming all year round; it has a beautiful farmers market in the summer with lots of delicious produce, and is decorated around the holidays. We have two indoor cats, Toast and Marshmallow. Both love to jump on our laps at night and cuddle. Marshmallow is an active boy who is always on the move. Toast is a cat that will climb up on your lap demanding attention and then purrs herself to sleep while keeping you warm.

Our Extended Family

Jessica has a twin sister who lives locally. They are very close and spend a lot of time together doing things like walking her dog, Gandalf the Greyhound. Her parents also live close by and visit to celebrate life events and just to say hello. The entire family likes to have fires in the summer and sit outside, play games, and just enjoy the outdoors. Her dad always hosts a large pork dinner for New Year’s Day, and no one goes home hungry. You can often catch the family cooking meals together, having fish frys and hosting cookie baking days for the holidays.

Jeff’s sister has recently moved back in the state and we get to share many evenings with her. His parents live close by, and we spend time with them often doing things like seeing musicals and going to dinner. Jeff’s mom always makes a delicious baked good for celebrations and goes all out for birthdays. Jeff’s extended family lives all over the United States, but we meet up yearly for a family reunion. It is fun to see everyone and catch up on life’s events. We also see much of the family during our annual make-your-own-pizza celebration at Christmas.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have wanted to expand our family to spread some of the love we have for each other with another. We were led to adoption because of some fertility issues we have experienced and our exposure to friends who have also adopted. The idea of providing a loving home to someone and being able to add to our team is so exciting. Adoption gives us this opportunity and allows us to share our love to another person. Our friends who have gone through the adoption process have been so open with their own experiences and supportive of us in this journey.
