dear expectant mother

There are no words to fully describe the respect and gratitude that I feel towards you! You are such a strong and incredible person to be giving the most extraordinary gift possible. I can't imagine how complicated and difficult this decision is for you to figure out the best plan for you and your baby. If you choose our family, I want to assure you that I will spend the rest of my life honoring you and ensuring that your child always feels the strength of your love through your decision.

I also promise to love them fiercely, nurture and protect them, and never let them question the depths of my love and how amazing they are. Your baby would grow up in a family that laughs a lot, loves life, and values them more than anything in the world. My life would be dedicated to ensuring that I provide them with the very best possible life, education, and people to help them grow and encircle them with love so they never feel alone. They would always be my top priority and thrive in a family who were all brought together by extraordinary love. I would be honored and feel so blessed to welcome your baby into our family and nurture all of the phenomenal gifts they have!

If you choose our family, I want to assure you that I will spend the rest of my life honoring you and ensuring that your child always feels the strength of your love through your decision.

About Me

For years, my friends and family jokingly referred to me as Mary Poppins. This is partially because I nannied for many years but also because I pursued my lifelong dream of becoming a child psychologist. While I love the fabled Mary Poppins character, my real name is Jennifer, and in addition to being a doctor, I play many other roles, the most important of which is that of “Mommy” to my creative and kind three-year-old daughter. I love her more than anything and am never happier than when we’re playing, exploring, and learning together. We love being silly, having dance parties, and afternoon picnics. Because I own a growing psychology practice, I’m afforded the flexibility to work three days a week. This allows me to spend more time enjoying motherhood. Thank you for considering us as a family for your child.

My Home & Pets

Arya and I share our warm, cozy home with Little Bit, our five-year-old pug who brings us endless giggles. We’re located in a tree-lined, walkable community that also happens to have the highest-rated school district within the city. Nearby small businesses and locally owned restaurants dot this diverse and friendly neighborhood, which boasts playground playdates, block parties, festivals, and even holiday caroling. We’re also located within proximity to a major metropolitan city where we take advantage of the aquarium, zoo, and children’s museum. Even better, we’re located near Arya’s preschool, which features multiage classrooms, tons of parent involvement, nature-based activities, and a curriculum that teaches self-respect and social-emotional wellbeing.

My Extended Family

Nana and Papa (my parents) are a fixture in our lives as well as my sister, her husband, and their four-year-old son. Additionally, I’m blessed with an incredibly supportive group of friends, who surround Arya and me with unconditional love. And there’s a lot of them too. Arya has eight sets of aunts and uncles as well as ten cousins.

In our family, birthdays, holidays, and special events are always celebrated by gathering together our large extended family. And when our family gets together, it means big family dinners, holiday decorating, and cooking family recipes.
Christmastime is an important holiday for my family. We create a “present tree” calendar, bake cookies, build gingerbread houses, craft ornaments, and watch as our Elf on the Shelf moves positions each morning.

Our family loves to travel together too. We’ve been on vacations to Mexico, Europe, the mountains, and our favorite, the beach!

My Adoption Story

If you ever met my childhood best friend, she’d tell you I’ve always wanted to be a mom. In fact, since I was a kid, my dream has been to adopt. On top of that, for many years, I nannied for all different kinds of families, particularly those who had heartfelt adoption stories. And as a child psychologist, I have witnessed the positive lifelong impacts that foster and adoptive parents have on children. But more importantly, I know the impact of adoption firsthand through my daughter Arya. Three years ago, Arya came into my life via the foster care program. After more than two years, I was finally able to adopt her and make our family official! Becoming a mom is my greatest joy. I’m so excited to expand our family, and, of course, Arya can’t wait to be a big sister.
