dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you. These simple words hold so much meaning and feelings that will never be enough. We cannot begin to imagine what you have been through to consider an adoption plan. We do not take your situation or decision lightly and think about what thoughts may have run through your mind and feelings through your heart to consider sharing this gift with us. You have a tremendous amount of strength and courage to have made this decision, and we will continue to share how brave you are if you choose us.

Please know that we are a very loving, compassionate, active, understanding, and open-minded family. If you choose us, we can assure you your child’s life will be filled with adventure, travel, new experiences, security, warmth, love, and affection.

About Us

Hello, and thank you for checking out our profile! A little introduction to who we are: Jennifer is a full-time medical assistant at a busy office and soon will be starting back to school full-time to fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse. Chad is on active duty with the U.S. Army Reserve. We met in December 2012. On our first date, we went ice skating, and we have been skating together through life ever since. We enjoy lots of outdoor activities, such as snowboarding, walking the dogs, playing catch, and lots more! We also enjoy working on our home that we love, and we do as much as we can ourselves. We are avid cooks and bakers and enjoy learning and making new recipes.

Our Home & Pets

We just bought our first house together after years of living in apartments. Our neighborhood is full of kids who play outside and ride their bikes to their friends’ houses. There is a block party every year, and we are the sought out neighborhood for trick-or-treating! We have two dogs that LOVE to pass the day by staring out the window onto the street. We have a park a mile from the house and are there frequently to play, exercise, and walk the dogs. We own a four-bedroom, three-bath house.

Our Extended Family

Jennifer’s family is close even though they are spread out over several different states and one cousin across the ocean. She has two brothers, one older and one younger. Her younger brother is married with three kids, and we see them as often as we can. Jennifer’s family loves to gather together and play games, go camping, travel, and BBQ. Christmas always held the tradition of placing gifts under the tree on Christmas Eve and waking on Christmas morning to filled stockings and gifts from Santa. Her mom and dad did an amazing job keeping Christmas magical, and she has passed that on to our family now.

Chad’s mother and her husband live in Tennessee, his brother and two nephews in Missouri, his sister in Colorado, and extended family in Minnesota. Due to mandatory military duty station transfers, Chad has had to travel back and forth from where we live to Chicago to visit his kids, sadly making frequent extended family visits difficult.

What Led Us To Adoption

Our story isn’t much different than many other potential adoptees. We have been married since 2016 and had difficulty conceiving on our own. After researching all of the options available to us, adoption just felt right. Jennifer has wanted to adopt since she was ten and went to school with kids who were all adopted. There were seven of them! Chad has two children from a previous marriage, and they came into Jennifer’s life when they were 8 and 12. Since we are unable to conceive naturally, we are excited to be able to share our good fortune and grow our family through adoption.
