State we live in: California

dear expectant mother

While we can't fully understand the struggles you're facing while you consider the best path for you and your child, please know we are here for you. You are not alone. If you choose us, your child will be cared for unconditionally and surrounded by friends and family at all times. We also plan on being transparent with our future child about their birth mom and would support the idea of an open adoption if you are comfortable with that as well.

We value family, education, and being active. We will make sure your child is always surrounded by love, focused on education to have a bright future, and always involved in some type of activity. We will support whatever decision our child makes and will be their biggest cheerleader. If they want to be a singer, we will be at every concert. If they want to be a surgeon, we will play pretend doctor. We want them to shine and be the best they can be.

There are so many emotions that come up when we think about adoption, but primarily we cannot wait to bring this little person into our world and show them all the wonderful things life has to offer.

About Us

We met through mutual friends, and after 13 years of being friends we realized we were meant to be more. We've now been happily married for four years. The only thing missing is a child to love. Jennifer is a client services manager who enjoys hosting friends and family parties as well as being active every day. James is a parts manager who enjoys playing golf, fishing, and an occasional poker night.

Our Home

We grew up in the town we currently live in. It is not a large city but populated enough to get exposure to a variety of people and cultures. We are close enough to the beach, mountains, and desert that it is easy to get away for a weekend. Our town has an amphitheater that puts on shows in the fall, a water park for kids to visit in the summer, and plenty of local restaurants to visit all throughout the year. We have larger cities close by that are filled with museums, parks, and fun activities for families to enjoy. The home we live in is a cute single story. There is a huge backyard that allows us to entertain our friends and family all year long.

Our Extended Family

We both have close extended families. Jennifer grew up living next door to her cousins, and they have remained close throughout adulthood. Jennifer’s close extended family includes her mom and dad who have been married for 42 years, one sister who is married to a wonderful man, four cousins with spouses, six second cousins, two aunts, two uncles, and one grandparent. Growing up, one of her grandmas lived with her as well. She has since passed, but we were so lucky to have had her in our lives.

James’s close extended family consists of his mom and dad, his stepdad and stepmom, two brothers, a sister-in-law, and three nephews. In addition, James is very close with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and second cousins. James’s maternal grandma is 96 and a bright light in our lives. We only dream of being as spunky as she is when we are 96.

What Led Us To Adoption

We became pregnant within a month of being married. During the first few months of pregnancy, the doctors discovered a dermoid cyst growing on an ovary. As a safety measure, we decided to take the cyst out at the end of pregnancy via a C-section. Unfortunately, we lost the baby at six months gestation. When the doctors went in to take the cyst out, they ended up having to take out an ovary as well. While we are now unable to have biological children, we still dream of becoming parents. We know adoption is the path meant for us to grow our family.
