About Me

My friends would describe me as a passionate, hardworking woman with a huge heart who is not afraid to live life. I celebrate special occasions by having my friends and family over for barbecues. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because gratitude is key to happiness. I love music and being outdoors, especially on the water and in the air! I love my dog, and I take her everywhere I go. I am a certified flight instructor, and I recently earned my master’s degree in business. I have worked hard over the past ten years to build my own aviation company so I can enjoy the personal flexibility and freedom to pursue motherhood—the ultimate adventure. I am ready to take a step back from flying now to spend time creating a nurturing, loving home in which to raise a child. I am so excited to begin this journey!

My Home & Pets

I live in a three-bedroom townhouse with a fenced-in backyard in a small, gated neighborhood in a Southern community with lots of families. What drew me to this area was the warmth and kindness of the people here. Half a mile away, there is a huge park with ancient oak trees where I love to walk my dog and watch sunsets over the river. My young dog, Shadow, is very sweet and loving but also playful. She is super affectionate and great with kids. My home is very safe and secure.

My Extended Family

I grew up in a small town in North Carolina as the oldest child. My family mainly consists of my parents and younger brother. My father had four siblings, so I also have many uncles, aunts, and cousins in NC and GA that I visit. My brother is six years younger than I am, and he has been married for eight years. He works with my father in the family business my grandfather began over 50 years ago.

The majority of my family is in the same area in NC, so I make trips often to visit, especially to celebrate birthdays and holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. My parents were thrilled to hear about my decision to adopt and can’t wait to welcome their first grandchild.

My best friend is also part of my family. She has been like an older sister to me for 15 years. I have watched her children grow up and experienced many of their milestones alongside her. She is incredibly supportive and encouraging of my adoption journey and will undoubtedly be a valuable resource and support system to me as I navigate motherhood.

What Led Me To Adoption

I’ve wanted to be a mother for several years and I was waiting for the right partner, but then I realized becoming a single mother actually gives me the opportunity to give a child 100% of my love and attention. I attempted to conceive a child with donor sperm, but after multiple fertility treatments I was unsuccessful. After much prayer and soul searching, I felt called to adopt. I’ve never had such a strong and joyous feeling that I was doing what I was meant to do. When I began sharing my decision with my friends and family, I received overwhelming love, encouragement, and support, which has assured me I am on the right path.
