Dear Expectant Parents,

We really appreciate you looking at our profile. We do not know the circumstances that led you to exploring your options, but we want you to know we admire the love you have for your child for considering an adoption plan. We are an Army family that has moved a few times over the past 13 years of our marriage. We have enjoyed being able to experience what each new home has to offer. We have made friends who have become family everywhere we have lived. We have always believed that family is not just about blood but about choice and love.

We want you to know that if we adopt your child, we will also be welcoming you into our family. We look forward to making memories together and having your child know where they came from. We believe this journey is not just about adopting your baby but also building a relationship with you that will last a lifetime. Please know that when your child joins our family, they will experience endless love, learning, and laughter. Our home is filled with love, laughter, and dog hair.

We welcome any questions you may have and hope you find the perfect family for you.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth and Jimmy

We do not know the circumstances that led you to exploring your options, but we want you to know we admire the love you have for your child for considering an adoption plan.

About Us

Hi! Welcome to our crazy and wonderful life! We met in our senior year of high school in Texas. Jimmy went to West Point Military Academy and has been in the Army since 2011. Elizabeth previously worked as a child welfare investigator, then as a survivor advocate for Kansas State University, and this year started as a Sexual Harassment and Assault Victim Advocate for the Army. We enjoy going to stand-up comedy shows, concerts, sports events, and festivals. While it is hard at times being a military family and moving often, we have experienced more than we ever expected. Jimmy likes to play video games, cook, and watch college football. Elizabeth enjoys reading, baking, and spending time at home with our dogs. Our experiences have opened our eyes to a variety of cultures, enriched our lives, and given us a great network of friends all over the country.

Our Home & Pets

We live on a military base in an idyllic neighborhood. We are friends with several of our neighbors who have kids. We live across the street from a park and often see children playing from our front window. We have three dogs. Charlie is a golden retriever and is six years old. We adopted him from a rescue in Texas. He is very affectionate and calm. Penny is a golden retriever and is almost seven years old. We rescued her when we lived in Arizona. She is calm and loves attention. Winston is a cavalier King Charles spaniel and is almost one year old. He still has puppy energy and loves to wrestle with his fur-siblings.

Our Extended Family

Jimmy’s parents have been married for over 40 years and live in North Texas. Jimmy has one younger brother. Jimmy’s brother is engaged to be married, and they live together in North Texas.

Elizabeth’s step-mom and father live in North Texas. Her mother lives in East Texas and is a history teacher. Elizabeth’s older brother and his wife also live in North Texas. Her younger step-sister lives in Colorado and works there as a therapist.

Elizabeth and Jimmy’s family being close by in Texas means we get to spend time with both of our families at the holidays. Elizabeth’s family does a special event every Christmas. Last year we went to an arcade, and this year we are going axe throwing. Jimmy’s family likes to play board games and go to the movies together.

Individually, we have both had a deep desire to care for others and to create communities and friendships wherever we go. This led us to become foster parents in 2020. Even before fostering, we had discussed a desire to adopt to expand our family and share our lives with others. Every placement has solidified for us even more that we have the hearts to love and give a child a home regardless of blood relation.
