dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We can’t imagine the difficult decision you are making. We would also like to show our gratitude and appreciation for considering giving us the opportunity to become parents and start a family of our own. We have both dreamed of one day becoming parents, and none of that would be possible without courageous mothers like you.

Should you bless us with this gift, our promise to you is that we will always provide a loving home for your child and ensure they are raised the same way we both were: with love and respect for others. We are both very passionate about ensuring our future child is well educated and has a worldly perspective as they grow up and also has an understanding of where they came from. Traveling is a big part of our lives, and we want to ensure our future child is able to experience the many cultures around the world.

As we navigate the adoption process, we hope to meet you and be there for you along the way during your pregnancy. Following the birth, we would be honored for you to be part of the child's life at any level you’re comfortable with.

Traveling is a big part of our lives, and we want to ensure our future child is able to experience the many cultures around the world.

-John & Jeff

About Us

We live in Washington State. As for our personalities, we believe we complement each other very well. John can be described as someone who values organization, structure, and managing the intricate details of our daily lives. Jeff tends to focus on the larger details. His broader perspectives on what it is he would like us to accomplish and his determination to do so has allowed us to be part of many wonderful experiences and life ventures. We’re both down to earth and in tune with our interests. Overall, Jeff enjoys sports like baseball and soccer, while John enjoys more artistic activities like drawing and painting. We both have shared interests in hiking, being outdoors, and traveling. We are both actively serving in the U.S. Air Force. Jeff will be retiring, which allows us the comfort of having someone at home full time. As for John, he’s almost halfway into his 20 years.

Our Home & Pets

We currently live in a gated community with incredible views of the Cascade Mountains from our backyard. The ocean beaches are a short hour drive away, and the beautiful Puget Sound and San Juan Islands are even closer. The nearby school district is one of the best in the state. We have two sweet and lazy dogs that are both seven years old, Duke and Bandit. We also have a Siamese kitty named Aiden and a tabby named Bella. They all get along great and provide non-stop entertainment when playing or when they’re all laying next to one another in front of the fireplace.

Our Extended Family

As a Hispanic man, family is at the center of John’s cultural background. Growing up, his mom’s family all lived within two blocks of one another. Every other weekend, approximately 60 of his relatives would come together to celebrate holidays and rites of passage. Being a very musically inclined group, his family would make up the entire choir for Catholic Mass on Sundays. John’s dad and grandpa would play the guitar while his grandma, his mom, and his mom’s sisters would sing in harmony.

Jeff’s parents and his brother all live in Washington. His brother and his wife have two toddlers. He’s also very close with his extended family, who all live in Arizona. Normally when we hang out with his immediate family, we love going to the lake or ocean. We also enjoy meeting up for dinner at our favorite restaurants from time to time or just going over to one another’s houses and having a nice home-cooked meal. Over the years, we’ve gone to several concerts with his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

What Led Us To Adoption

With both of us being raised in very family-oriented homes, we have always held the idea of fatherhood close to our hearts. Our slow but sure-footed journey getting to the point of seeking out adoption has taken a few years. The question of how we would like to be parents was something we really wanted to reflect on. Overall, our main challenge has been wanting to be absolutely ready. For the future family we hope to one day be a part of, we want to give them our best as their dads, especially in helping them live their truth and grow into their authentic self. In planning Jeffrey’s retirement from the military, this year has shown us we are more than ready.
