dear expectant mother

As we sit down to write this letter, we are overwhelmed by the courage, strength, and selflessness you have shown by considering adoption. Putting your child above yourself is truly inspiring, and if you choose us to parent your baby, that incredible gift will not be taken for granted.

As parents, we promise to love your baby well. We promise they will know your love for them in this decision you have made. We promise to raise them in a home where God is put at the center. We promise to take them on lots of adventures to discover new things and to get in the trenches with them when things are tough. We also promise to love, encourage, support, and care for them the best we possibly can every day of their life.

The dream of taking a baby to Grandma’s house, having playdates with cousins and friends, and building pillow forts fills us with so much hope. Anticipating their future of first crushes, school dances, and getting their driver’s license may be a little nerve racking but so exciting. To think of what they will choose to pursue and become is a blessing for which we would forever be grateful. Every story is different, and we are praying that if we get to be a part of your story, we can journey this part together.

Since we began envisioning our future and what our family was going to look like, we both wanted adoption to be part of our story.

About Us

We have been married for eight years; we started dating right out of high school and have been inseparable since. We have moved six times together, and every move has been an adventure. Joe is in the Army, and they are currently giving him the opportunity to pursue his MBA in Missouri. Emily works from home for an insurance company and can’t wait to be a stay-at-home mom. We enjoy taking time together to refuel by going to church, hiking, playing board games with friends and family, hosting guests in our home, cuddling on the couch to watch movies, and going to hockey games. We can’t wait to get to share all our favorite things with a little one.

Our Home & Pets

We recently purchased and renovated our first home in anticipation of expanding our family. Our house is located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in a top-rated school district with lots of neighborhood kids. Our home has three bedrooms, one of our favorites having been painted and prepared for a nursery. We are looking forward to our baby taking their first steps in this home and enjoying lots of yard games. We have two dogs: Roxy, our 10-pound pup, and Bentley, who is 110 pounds. They both love kids and truly are great companions.

Our Extended Family

Joe has a very large extended family, his parents both being one of six children. We enjoy an annual family reunion with Joe’s mom’s family at his uncle’s pond. Christmas is always a big get-together for Joe’s dad’s family, where we spend lots of time together and look forward to a white elephant gift exchange. Joe has a sister and stepbrother who love to travel and get together throughout the year to share about all their adventures.

Emily comes from a large extended family as well, with her dad being one of seven. Her mom comes from a small family, having only one brother, who was adopted at birth. Thanksgiving and Christmas are always packed with tons of food, fun, and games. One of her favorite holiday traditions is candy and cookie baking day with her mom, grandma, and siblings. Emily has three sisters, two brothers-in-law, and a niece and nephew. Living closer to them allows us to spend as much time together as possible; family dinners at her parents’ house are a frequent occurrence.

We can’t wait to include a baby in the traditions we have enjoyed as well as build new ones with everyone. Both of our families absolutely can’t wait to shower a new baby with so much love and be part of this journey with us.

What Led Us To Adoption

Since we began envisioning our future and what our family was going to look like, we both wanted adoption to be part of our story. After eight years of marriage and trying to have a baby, we feel God has given us the opportunity to pursue our dream of adoption. Having been able to see the blessing of adoption through Emily’s family as well as friends, we can’t wait to get the chance to experience the joy of adoption in our family. Both of our families couldn’t be more supportive and eager to walk alongside us through it all.
