Family Type: Heterosexual Couple
State We live in: California

dear expectant mother

We are honored to have the opportunity to meet you. We can only imagine that filtering through the lives of potential families for your little one is a very emotional task, but we are so grateful you are considering us.

Family and friends are beyond excited to know we are adopting. The support through this process has been overwhelming, and we want the same for you and your baby. If you choose us, we will be there with you throughout the journey in any way you’re comfortable with.

We are truly grateful for you taking us into consideration to become parents to your child.

With love and gratitude,
Pilar, Josh, Lulu, Raj, and Koko🐾

About Us

We began dating in 2003 and married in 2014. Josh works from home as the safety manager for a successful traffic control and road construction company. At 6’4”, Josh is the tallest, loudest, and funniest man you will ever meet. His heart is just as big as his personality. So many people are drawn to him, and our friends trust him to be the godparent or fun uncle to their kids. Pilar is sweet and fun-loving and has a great deal of patience and experience with kids. Recently, Pilar accepted a job located closer to home as a food and beverage manager. Although Josh is the one friends’ kids go to for fun, Pilar is the one they go to for comfort. We are godparents to five of our friends’ children and take those responsibilities seriously. When we are not working, we enjoy watching movies, our fantasy football league, playing softball, walking the dogs, working out, house projects, and entertaining friends and family.

Our Home & Pets

We bought our first home last year, making sure our home would have enough space to host family celebrations and casual get-togethers with friends and family. Backyard space was important as well since we have three dogs, Raj, Lulu, and Koko. Our dogs enjoy being around kids of all ages and are well behaved around them. A network of interurban hiking trails criss-crosses our neighborhood, and we see cows, horses, other farm animals, and wild birds on our walks. The local school, just a few blocks away, is quite good. We are also just 30 minutes from the coast.

Our Extended Family

We are blessed to live three doors down from Pilar’s parents and just 20 minutes from Josh’s grandmother. Josh’s mom splits her time between her home in Washington and our house. Pilar’s brother, Josh’s cousins, and our uncles and aunts live in the area as well. We have family meals weekly with Pilar’s parents, Josh’s grandmother, and his mother when she is here. One of Josh’s cousins is currently trying to get pregnant, and we hope our children will spend lots of time together.

Every year we go with friends and their children to the local pumpkin patch and Christmas tree farm and look forward to bringing our own children along someday soon. But we don’t need a holiday to spend time with family and friends; casual get-togethers with family and friends are also special to us. We celebrate our love for each other through food, laughter, and storytelling. We cherish the time we have together as life is precious.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have been trying to start our family for roughly ten years. We went to a specialist and Pilar went through a procedure to help, but we tried for a year with no success. That year was a very hard year for us emotionally. We took a year off to refocus and assess our options. We started looking into adoption by getting involved as foster parents. We felt it would be very hard to have kids come into our lives who we would fall in love with and then watch them leave. We reached back out to Angel Adoption, and here we are. We couldn’t be more excited to start a family.
