Family Type: Gay Couple
State We live in: California

dear expectant mother

It would be an absolute dream for us to become fun, loving gay dads to your beautiful baby and hopefully with siblings in the near future! It is our promise to honor you and your child by creating positive mindfulness of all our family’s beginnings. Both coming from a blended family with very diverse friend groups, we will make it a priority to have your child connect with the many communities that surround us. Many of Phillip’s friends have asked to be adopted into his light-hearted family and are always greeted with warm hugs and laughter. Kai grew up with creative and resourceful parents, and his imagination still remains endless.

As this may be the hardest decision you ever make, to find the right family for your child, we want to thank you. Thank you for considering us for the greatest privilege of being parents and creating magical opportunities for your child that will be filled with immense love and joy. We truly hope you will join us for the ride!

We will always respect your decision on how connected you wish to be, but know you will be an integral part of our family because we will forever share that love for you. We truly admire your courage and selflessness in this journey and want to thank you again to the moon and back for considering us!

Love,
Kai, Phillip, Mac & Queen Jellybean

About Us

We are both Californians who were set up by mutual friends almost five years ago and are now married with a beautiful life together. At that time, Kai was the owner/esthetician of a boutique day spa, and Phillip worked as a hair colorist in a top salon. When COVID hit, we lost our jobs but both have now pivoted into amazing careers in real estate! We are complete opposites and think that’s why we work so well together. Kai has a calming energy and will always do things the right way, while Phillip is full of energy and brings that excitement in all aspects of his life. We love our nights spent at home cooking and snuggling with our fur babies, traveling anywhere near and far, being out in nature, and spending time with each other’s families and friends.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a beautiful coastal town in California just 15 minutes from our family and eight minutes from the beach in a three-bedroom, two-bath home with great outdoor space for kids. We walk our energetic 13-year-old rescue dog, Mac, three times a day to the park, which is minutes from our home and where you often see children at the playground and dogs running through the grass. We are in a community with top-rated public schools and recreation centers, with easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, and shops. A notable mention is that the queen of the house is Jellybean, our 12-year-old cat, who has stolen the hearts of many with her sweet demeanor.

Our Extended Family

Kai grew up in a small town with a German stay-at-home mother with an infectious laugh and a heart that fills every room while his father worked as a park ranger with stories to share for every occasion. We love having traditional Thanksgiving dinner with his parents. We cook, and Kai’s mom knits while his dad plays records while the food is being prepared. The Fourth of July is big in his hometown, where we can taste amazing homemade pies and enjoy the vibrant parade where many of the communities of his town are represented for an all-day event.

Phillip has a large, blended Vietnamese American family (each of his parents are one out of eight kids), and meals are generally potluck style with food being the language of love. His best friends are his sister and mother, and they literally talk every day. Growing up, he always had family nearby and can see that tradition carry on with his two nieces, whom he is incredibly close with. They love their sleepovers with their goofy uncle. Christmas includes matching pajamas, summers are always at the pool, and Lunar New Year is filled with laughs and wishes for good luck.

What Led Us To Adoption

One of the greatest qualities we immediately noticed about each other is how close we are to our families. We were both blessed to be raised by supportive and loving families, which gave us incredible opportunities in life that we would love to share with our own family. We both also come from service backgrounds, which allows us to connect with new people every day and see how important it is to be kind to and supportive of all the members of communities around us. It would be our greatest joy and honor to be able to create that loving home for our growing family.
