We were brought together by fate seven years ago, and the amount of commitment we have to each other shows. Our relationship is strong and always evolving. We truly believe God put us together to help each other grow, keep each other accountable, and love each other well. In October 2021 we were married and combined our families. Kyle brings a 21-year-old daughter, and Kaity brings 15-, 14-, and 11-year-old sons. Kyle owns his own lawn care/snow removal company, where he enjoys mentoring both his children and others about qualities such as hard work and commitment. Kaity is detail oriented and goal driven, and she enjoys helping others in her work as an insurance agent. Both of us are very active in our church. Some activities we enjoy are biking, watching movies, and taking a yearly family vacation. We are so excited to share our family with another brother or sister!
Our home is a split-level with five bedrooms. Our backyard is fenced and has plenty of room for kids and our three dogs to play. They love us just as much as we love them, especially when we take them on walks and give them “people” food. We also have two cats that like to get all the pets when the dogs are not around. We live in a small town in Iowa. Our town is a great place to raise a family. It includes four parks and miles of bike trails. Our town also recently invested in our children by adding a state-of-the-art football field and gym and adding soccer to our sports roster. We love living in a small, tight-knit community with a low crime rate and opportunities to excel in life.
The values of love, compassion, and commitment were instilled in us from childhood, and we still honor them today.
Kaity remembers weekends at her grandparents’ house with all her cousins, aunts, and uncles. Some of the things they did included going to the circus, watching the Harlem Globetrotters, and baking Christmas goodies. Her immediate family includes a brother, sister-in-law, and two nephews. Her parents are the type of grandparents any kid would want. They love spending time with the kids and spoiling them before sending them home.
Kyle comes from a family that would get together with cousins almost every weekend. He has two older sisters, one younger brother, two brothers-in-law, two nieces, and two nephews. He remembers his mother being very strong. She always had multiple jobs because his dad was not around to help support the family. His mom played both roles, and she did a good job. The sisters would help quite a bit as well. They enjoyed going to the lakes on the weekend or watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, and his mom was always there to listen. Still to this day, his mom is always there to help with the grandkids and gives great advice.
Adoption has always been a topic of conversation with us. For the past seven years, we have talked about when the right time would be to add to our family, and our hearts feel that time is now. Kaity is no longer able to have any more biological children. Our hearts are so excited to share our family with another child. We are so grateful for this opportunity and thankful that you are considering trusting us to parent your child.
