dear expectant mother

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We know this is a difficult and confusing time for you while you are trying to figure out the best option for you and your precious baby. We hope you feel supported and loved no matter where you are in your journey. We admire you so much for choosing life and for considering adoption. We want you to know we understand life is messy and complicated. We know it comes with challenges, and we want you to know how incredibly brave you are as you are choosing to put your baby first above all else.

If you choose us, we want to assure you we will respect you and whatever level of openness and contact you wish to have with your baby. We promise to cherish and love your child with our hearts and souls. We will provide a safe, happy home and life with every opportunity possible. We promise your baby will always feel love and affection, and they will want for nothing. We will work hard to teach them the importance of always trying their best and teaching them right from wrong.

We are praying for you and your sweet baby throughout your pregnancy, that God will fill you with peace in whatever decision you make.

We promise to cherish and love your child with our hearts and souls.

About Us

We are both very outgoing, social people with a deep passion to keep things thriving within our community. Nate works as a local police officer, and Kari works at the local pharmacy as well as being a city alderwoman. We spend time together at sporting events cheering on the kids, riding our side-by-side out in the county, or at the family farm playing with the animals. As a family, we enjoy being inside playing games, settling in with blankets to watch a movie, or dressing for the weather conditions both hot and cold to go on adventures outside. We are always up for a new adventure or activity, we love to go swimming at a local pool or run away for the day to a nearby water park or amusement park. We also spend quality time at Kari’s parents’ house in the pool or outside fishing, walking the trails or sitting down enjoying the peace and quiet of the country.

Our Home & Pets

We live in the southern portion of Illinois, in a very small, rural community. Our school district is dedicated to our children; many of the teachers have their own children or grandchildren enrolled in the school. Our girls are both in classrooms with groups of about 16-18 students and get a lot of one-on-one attention from their teachers. Within our small community, we have a local campground with a lake where we go often with playgrounds the kids all love to play on. In our home, we have two dogs: a Belgian malinois named Zuke and a Great Dane named Minnie. We also have two ferrets, Saber and Pete, and a leopard gecko named Rex. At Kari’s parents’ home, there is an array of farm animals.

Our Extended Family

Kari’s family: My family lives about 12 minutes from us, and both of my parents are very involved in our lives. My dad is retired; he spends his time running our girls around as needed when we can’t. My mom is planning to retire when we adopt so she can become our daily sitter. I have one brother and a nephew, along with several first and second cousins, whom we see or talk to often. We are very close to my family.

Nate’s family: Both my grandparents and my mom live about 45 minutes from us; we see them about once or twice a month. I have a sister, a brother, and three nephews. We enjoy getting the children together to let them play and run at parks or at my grandparents’ house.

Besides our family members, we have some very important people in our lives. Family does not always mean blood relation; it is something you develop and feel. Our family and friends are very supportive of our decision and cannot wait to help us welcome a new bundle of joy into our home.

What Led Us To Adoption

Every love story is beautiful. Ours started out with each of us bringing a daughter into the marriage, and then we added two more princesses into our home. However, earlier this year, God had other plans for our youngest; she gained her wings at 11 months old in a house fire. We have worked closely with our counselor through the grief process as a family. We know there is no replacing our Danika, nor would we want to; however, we feel like we have so much love to give and the desire to nurture a baby as they grow. We have the ability and means to raise a baby like they deserve. We want to open our hearts and home to a baby to share our love, affection, and attention.
