dear expectant mother

Thank you for considering us. Thank you for being so selfless and brave and for loving this child. Thank you for taking the time to hear our story and hopefully making us part of yours.

We understand and respect that this decision is incredibly difficult for you, and we would feel so honored to be chosen to be your baby’s adoptive parents. We promise to raise our future child with kindness, stability, and so much love. Considering adoption for your baby is such an incredible act, and we are committed to whatever level of current and future contact you are comfortable with. You must be going through so many emotions right now, and we promise to do everything we can to help you feel supported and appreciated throughout this journey.

Our future child will join a family that has always prioritized loving and encouraging one another no matter what. Both of our boys are beyond excited to have a new baby in the family and to be little helpers when the baby arrives. We are so grateful for you and for the beautiful life you are bringing into this world, and we are so excited to have the privilege of being considered by you.

About Us

We have been together for fifteen years, married for eight, parents for six. We met as theater majors in college, and now both work for Disney; Morgan is a lighting designer and Katie is an educator. We have two beautiful boys who are so excited to have a new sibling. Living in Central Florida and working for Disney means we are blessed with lots of opportunities for activities, from theme parks and cruises and visiting beaches to hiking in state parks and swimming in our pool. Katie loves to be creative and imaginative with the boys. She keeps the house and our family’s schedules running smoothly and loves being outdoors. Morgan loves doing home improvement projects and having friends over for game nights. The most important thing to us is to raise kind and happy kids. We want everyone who meets our family to know we represent love, compassion, and imagination.

Our Home & Pets

Our neighborhood is like one of those you used to see in sitcoms, where everyone gathers each evening to play and hang out until dark. It’s a community with dozens of families from all walks of life, including many other young families and other LGBTQ couples. There is a lakeside playground down the street surrounded by nature, so we spend lots of time going on walks and exploring with our boys and pets. We have two small dogs, Annie and Lola, who love going for walks and napping in the sun. We built our house to be our forever home, so it has plenty of room for our growing family: five bedrooms and 4.5 baths plus a playroom.

Our Extended Family

Both of us come from very tight-knit families. Our grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins were a big part of family vacations and holidays. We each have a sister who has two kids, so your baby will join a loving and lively group of cousins. When Katie was young, her family went to the same lakeside cabin every summer, and we have continued that tradition with our kids; we even based our backyard pool design on the lake. Morgan’s favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, where she has taken over the family tradition of baking Aunt Nancy’s sweet potato yum-yum each year. Since we are from opposite coasts, our Christmas traveling involves flying to Maryland to visit Morgan’s family and then to California to visit Katie’s family so no one gets left out of the holiday season.

We’d be remiss in describing our family if we didn’t mention our chosen family. We have been so fortunate to build a small army of friends and neighbors who love us and our kids just like their own. They have come on family trips, held our boys when they were sick, given us support when we’ve had difficult times, and laughed with us more times than we can count. Our village truly is remarkable.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have both known we would adopt since we were young. Although Katie has given birth to two children, adoption has always been close to our hearts, and we both feel now is the time for our family to fill in that missing piece. With this adoption, we have two purposes: bringing a child into our family and making sure an expectant mother has the peace she needs to know she has made the right choice for her family and her baby.
