dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

With everything we are and everything we have, we thank you for considering making our dreams of becoming parents come true. If chosen, raising your child will be our greatest blessing, and we promise to provide your child with unconditional love, support, and encouragement their whole life. Faith is at the core of our lives, and we will be honored to teach your child about the power of prayer. We believe life is a precious gift, and given the opportunity, we will share the world with your child and support him or her in their unique interests and passions.

We have been blessed with a loving community of family and friends who share our faith. They all have thriving children, and everyone is thrilled to welcome your child into our family gatherings, where we dye eggs on Easter, build haunted houses for Halloween, and bake cupcakes for birthday parties together! Each summer our family travels to a different country to explore new foods, cultures, and traditions, and we would love the opportunity to share these experiences with your child.

Nothing is more important to us than family, and if you choose us, we will dedicate our lives to ensuring your child feels loved and safe. We trust in prayer that our family was always meant to come together in this amazing way. From our hearts to yours, we honor your choice and we thank you.

With love and gratitude,
Kay & Michael

About Us

We are a happy, fun-spirited, and athletic couple and are passionate about living life to the fullest. When we are not traveling or cooking in the kitchen, you can find us outdoors riding bikes, doing yoga, playing tennis, or hiking with our dog. Our home is the place where family and friends gather to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and every season in between. We both work in the healthcare industry, and we are fortunate to have very stable and successful careers we love. We believe the biggest contribution we can make to support peace on Earth is to first create peace in our own lives that spreads out. We have always dreamed of becoming parents. We want nothing more than to share our love with a child so they, too, can feel unconditionally loved and supported to achieve their dreams.

Our Home

Our home is full of sunshine and the sounds of birds chirping in our garden. Our backyard is lush, with play areas and a swing in our big tree waiting for your child to call it their own. Because we love to be cozy, each room in our home is welcoming, with comfortable seating, pillows, and warm lighting. We have decorated a room special for your child to explore, create, and dream big dreams. On the weekends, together with Kay’s mother and our dog, we visit the local farmers market for fruit, veggies, and delicious baked goods. At the farmers market, the neighborhood children play and dance to live music, and we cannot wait for this weekly activity with your child.

Our Extended Family

During the holidays, we visit with family (Kay’s six siblings and Michael’s two siblings) to celebrate traditions and cook big meals, play boardgames, and record annual skits. The conversations around the dinner table are lively and always full of lots of love, storytelling, and laughter.

Because Kay is African American and and Michael is Canadian with French, Irish, and Chinese heritage, we have loved bringing our different customs together and are excited to find ways to also incorporate your child’s biological heritage into our family traditions each year.

Both our families are so excited we have chosen adoption and cannot wait to welcome the newest and youngest member of the family, your beautiful child. We all look forward to spoiling your child with love, encouragement, and support throughout their entire life.

What Led Us To Adoption

After eight years of unsuccessful attempts at starting a family, we began to feel a strong calling to build our family through adoption. This decision was enhanced as we have been blessed to experience the love and joy of adoption in many parts of our lives. Kay’s cousin (now 18 years old) was adopted at one month old and will begin his first year of college in the fall. Two of our family friends are also adopted, each with happy and loving families, and Kay’s best friend of 22 years adopted a beautiful baby girl four years ago; we are honored to have her call us Aunt Kay and Uncle Michael.
