Kendyl & Sarahann

Family Type: Lesbian Couple
State we live in: Washington

dear expectant mother

It takes an incredibly strong and kind heart for such a journey, but we want you to know we are here for you. There is no doubt your precious baby will be instilled with your love, and we hope to be a part of that. We cannot express the joy your consideration brings us.

We have thought for a long time on what we want to tell you, and the biggest thing that comes to mind is a promise. We promise to love your child unconditionally, support all their endeavors, and encourage them to achieve their full potential. We are ready to praise all the wins and find the lessons learned in all the losses. We will provide an environment filled with laughter and love. We will raise your baby to be confident, caring, and true to themselves.

We imagine ourselves sharing all of our traditions and family recipes. We imagine becoming the “embarrassing” moms at any event, whether it’s chess or soccer. We will experience new things and go on adventures. We look forward to the big moments but even more so the small, everyday moments; we want to be part of it all.

We are looking forward to connecting with you. We know this is just a brief insight into who we are, and we would love for you to know more! Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family, and we hope to hear from you soon.

We have always known we wanted to be mothers. Adoption was always our first thought when we started discussing how to grow our family.

About Us

Kendyl grew up in a rural town, and Sarahann was raised in the suburbs of a big city in Texas. Our love story begins in 2011 at Philosophy 101 with conversations turning into study dates. Sarahann thought Kendyl was hilarious, and Kendyl thought Sarahann was incredibly intelligent. In 2015 we got married and graduated. In 2018 we graduated with our master’s and were commissioned as officers in the Army. Sarahann is a great listener and backup dancer. Kendyl has the biggest heart and loves to give back. We love spending time outdoors either sitting on our back patio or going on hikes. Our home is always filled with laughter and love. We spend time home cooking, reading, volunteering, or dancing in the kitchen. Currently, Kendyl serves as a human resource officer, and Sarahann is a therapist working with a non-profit organization for underrepresented youth.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a diverse community in Washington. Our home is located in a quiet cul-de-sac near amazing schools, parks, and trails. Our three-bedroom home has a large yard, and we spend time on our back patio. We imagine being outdoors with everyone blowing bubbles, playing with pups, potting flowers, and counting stars. Our home has become the designated house for our military family to gather for our crawfish boil or puppy play dates. Our two amazing pups are the sweetest and love to be around children of all ages. Valentine, a Dalmatian, is six years old, and Mylan, a Maltese, is three years old. Their favorite place is near the fireplace or sunbathing on the patio.

Our Extended Family

Our extended family is full of love and support. They are truly overjoyed for the start of this journey. We spend a lot of time with family through video chats and trips to Texas. We have two nieces and a nephew who have grown up before our eyes. We love supporting them in all their activities, such as soccer, softball, orchestra, and gymnastics. Our military family is amazing and extends across the entire country, spending holidays and weekends together.

We have two annual family reunions. One features fireworks and a horseshoe competition, and at another, we eat tons of barbeque and go fishing. For Christmas, decorating the house is an event! We dress in our Christmas attire (pups included), drink hot cocoa, sing carols, and, of course, the inflatable moose (that Kendyl got unbeknownst to Sarahann) is placed on the front lawn. Sarahann makes tamales, keeping up her family tradition. We firmly believe in the power of food, and eating around the dinner table with our family is one tradition we will continue whether it is a new recipe or Nana’s chicken and dumplings.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have always known we wanted to be mothers. Adoption was always our first thought when we started discussing how to grow our family. We have been able to witness how blessed friends and others have been through adoption. We want to create a loving, supportive, and nurturing environment for our family. Our extended family, especially Kendyl’s sister, is beyond ready to spoil and love our little one. We cannot express how excited we are to begin this journey for our family.
