dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Parent,

We cannot begin to imagine the challenges you are facing in your next steps. First we want to say thank you for taking the time to look at our profile to get to know us a tiny bit. We promise that if you choose us, your child would never feel unloved. We are lucky to be surrounded by family who are just as eager as we are to be involved in your child’s life. Something we share as a couple is our love for adventure and spending time together. We are blessed with the ability to travel, hike, camp, and see the world; we cannot wait to share that with your child.

It's hard to express how much we are looking forward to starting our family, to nurture and care for a child, and to help them grow inside and out. Without you, that would not be possible. We will work to be our very best selves each and every day for each other and a child. In addition to love, we will work to support the emotional and financial needs of your child. We will encourage them to find and follow their passions and do everything in our power to make sure they receive a good education.

As you consider your next steps, we would love to get to know you so that we can try our best to support you through this time.

About Us

We met how most people meet in the modern day, on a dating app, but what started as a few messages led to a very long first date full of laughs and stories. We were swept up in an instant friendship, where we get joy doing anything, everything, and nothing together. Danielle is a high school art teacher and has a passion for working with children along with creating, crafting, and reading. Kevin works in cybersecurity and is a wiz with all things computers, technology, and motorcycles. Together we love to explore, riding our bikes around town, going for hikes and camping, taking family vacations, and checking out new restaurants. In our day to day, we are content hanging out with our three dogs, cooking, watching movies, or playing a game together. We can’t wait to add a little one to our loving family!

Our Home & Pets

We live in northern Virginia in our three-floor townhouse with our three dogs: Donnie, Teddy, and Winston. Our neighborhood is quiet, small, and full of families. There are many places to play: fields, playgrounds, and our favorite pool. We back up to a walking trail that can take us downtown to other parks, playgrounds, restaurants, and the local community center/library with lots of children’s activities. We are happy to live and work in an area with great schools and where we can hop in the car for ten minutes and have endless activities like bowling, splash pads, laser tag, ice cream, multiple libraries, and endless numbers of parks.

Our Extended Family

We live very close to Danielle’s parents, whom we spend a great deal of time with having weekly dinners, getting all of the dogs together to play, going shopping, playing board games, and gardening. A little further down the road is Danielle’s older brother and sister-in-law, whom we see at least once a month when we do a family get-together centered around a meal at someone’s house or trying a new restaurant together. The six of us get together to go on family vacations every summer along with weekend trips when we can.

Although Kevin isn’t close to his family by birth, he was welcomed into his chosen family in sixth grade and is unofficially adopted. We are constantly on FaceTime chatting with Kevin’s brother and sister-in-law and our cutie nephew. We try to get together a few times a year to do things like seeing holiday lights, going to the splash pad/water park, trick-or-treating, and watching plenty of movies and TV shows together. His parents live a few hours away but are a quick text away to talk about life and check in on us.

What Led Us To Adoption

Our adoption story is different from many others because adoption is our first choice to grow our family. Danielle has worked in many different schools over the years and has always known she wanted to adopt to hopefully share the overwhelming amount of love and patience she has inside of her. We eagerly anticipate welcoming a child into our home and our extended family. We believe adoption can be a first choice to share our love and not a last resort.
