Kevin & Adam

Family Type: Gay
State we live in: District Of Columbia

dear expectant mother

We haven’t met you, but we already admire your courage, selflessness, and love. We will never truly understand what you are feeling right now, but we do know adoption is a tough decision to consider. We also believe it is a selfless gift to yourself, your child, and whoever adopts her or him. Thank you for considering us to be that family.

We got married ten years ago and are lucky to have lived in many cool places in the world. Wherever we are in the world, our home is filled with love, friends, and lots of laughter. We can’t wait to share that with your child. We promise laughs over breakfast, bedtime stories where we’ll add extra imagination, the best education, lifetime support during good and bad times, and adventures around the world. Both of us will always compete to be the “dad of the year.” We embrace all cultures and are dedicated to preserving yours if you wish.

If you’d like, we can meet and get to know you. You’re not alone. We’re here. Thank you again.

With love,
Kevin and Adam

Welcoming your child into our lives would be the greatest joy. Our life’s work will be helping her or him navigate the world with compassion, kindness for others, and wonder.

-Kevin & Adam

About Us

Adam says Kevin is the silliest, kindest, and most organized person he knows. Kevin says Adam is the most genuine person, who’s so proud of his home state of Minnesota and our country. We met in college and have been married for ten years. Adam is a diplomat for the United States government, and Kevin helps nonprofit organizations tell their stories. This means we’ve lived all over the world and have been welcomed into different cultures. We love exploring new places in our neighborhood, our city, and the world. We cherish our friendships and family and always make and keep connections wherever we live. Adam loves to cook for family and friends. Nothing makes him happier than filling our kitchen with friends and family to enjoy an evening with good food. Kevin is a photographer and adventurer and is always eager to explore on foot and take pictures. We speak Spanish, and Adam also speaks German and French.

Our Home

We say home is wherever we are together. Because of Adam’s job with the government, we move to different countries around the world. Together we’ve lived in the United States, Argentina, Switzerland, and Mongolia. We’re excited to share this unique global life with your child: learning languages, attending the best schools, cooking new foods, and making friends everywhere we go. Our neighborhood in the United States is green and diverse, with fun parks, good schools, and neighbors from different walks of life. Some of our family and many of our closest friends also live nearby and are eager to help us raise a child.

Our Extended Family

We both come from close-knit families. Adam is from Minnesota, where his parents, sister, niece, and nephew live. Adam’s other sister and her family live near us. We adore and spend as much time as possible with Adam’s two nephews and niece. Kevin is from Wisconsin, where his parents, brother, and twin live. Our families – especially the grandparents! – are so excited to welcome a baby and help us make sure she or he grows up surrounded by love and support.

Holidays are a special time for us to come home to Minnesota and Wisconsin to be with our families. One of Adam’s greatest joys is cooking a big Thanksgiving dinner for everyone. Christmas is fun as we criss-cross the Midwest to see as many aunts, uncles, and cousins as we can. Kevin loves to photograph the gatherings. We can’t wait for our nieces and nephews to spend hours playing with a baby during the holidays. They’ll be lifelong friends just like we are with our cousins. We know everyone will adore your child as much as we will, and they all can’t wait to meet her or him!

What Led Us To Adoption

We knew early on in our relationship we wanted to be fathers. While we thought about and discussed different ways to start a family, deep down we both knew we wanted to adopt. Seeing the happiness and love in the families of our many friends who adopted has made us certain adoption is the path for us. Welcoming your child into our lives would be the greatest joy. Our life’s work will be helping her or him navigate the world with compassion, kindness for others, and wonder.
