dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family. We cannot begin to imagine the choices you are contemplating and what you are experiencing right now. We admire your courage and fierce love for your child. We talk about you often and feel so much love and admiration for you already. Please know that if you choose us to parent your child, we will be supportive and honest alongside you.

With us, your baby will grow up in a deeply loving and safe home. In our family, we laugh easily, cry easily, and celebrate individuality. We listen to each other, learn from our mistakes, and strive for balance. Your child will always feel loved, supported, and seen. Your child will have access to a good education and will be able to pursue whatever passions they have. We will always speak highly of you and share with your child how much you love them. The gift you may give us will forever change our lives and hearts. We never thought we would be able to be parents, but with you, a miracle is possible.

We wish you peace and clarity through this important time.

Much love and respect,
Kirsten and Seth

The gift you may give us will forever change our lives and hearts. We never thought we would be able to be parents, but with you, a miracle is possible.

About Us

We have been together for ten years and married for six. We met at Seth’s work and bonded over our mutual love for cooking, art and music. Our relationship is loving, deep and honest. We are dedicated to continually working on ourselves individually and as a couple. We have longed to share our love with a child for many years. Seth manages and cooks at his family’s local business, an establishment that is the heart of the community. Deeply compassionate, Seth also has a calm demeanor and quick wit. He enjoys making dinner most nights for Kirsten and jogging through our peaceful neighborhood. Kirsten is a psychotherapist who specializes in working with women and teens. Her work is very meaningful to her, and she has dedicated her life to helping others. Seth says that “Kirsten is wise, brave, and beautiful.” She practices yoga most days and values the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Our Home & Pets

We are happy to call colorful Colorado our home. Residing in a small city near the Rocky Mountains, we enjoy easy access to nature, hiking, and all the fun things that bigger towns offer. We have a cute three-bedroom home located on a quiet street with wonderful neighbors. Concord grapes and blackberries grow every summer in our fenced-in backyard. We love making jellies and pies with them and sharing these treats with our neighbors. Our school district is fantastic, and all of the schools are within walking distance. We have two ridiculously funny and spoiled rescue pets. Charlie is a chihuahua/poodle who believes he’s a human being. Sascha is a hypoallergenic Siberian cat who is also the queen of our house.

Our Extended Family

Seth is the big brother of three sisters and comes from a large, loving family with deep roots in Colorado. His adorable niece is almost two years old and can’t wait for a new cousin. Seth is close with his parents and works alongside his father and sister in the family business. His family has traditions of pickle making every summer with his grandmother and a huge gathering with 50 family members on Christmas Eve.

Kirsten is an only child and was raised by her single mother. Her mom lives in a neighboring town, and they are very close. We love to eat carry-out Indian food with her and play fetch with her border collie. Kirsten’s mom can’t wait to become a grandmother; she’s been talking about it for years. Kirsten’s father, her half-brother, and the rest of her family live on the East Coast. She is close with her dad and shares a love of music, art, and culture with him. Her aunt lives nearby and is so excited to be a great auntie!

Our collective family is big, loving, funny, warm, and welcoming. Sisters and grandmothers are already arguing over who gets to babysit.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have always wanted to be parents and to have a family of our own. After struggling with miscarriages and infertility, we knew adoption would be an incredible opportunity for us to fulfill our dream of growing our family. We have friends who are adoptees and adoptive parents. Our conversations with them have given us such respect and love for adoption. The beautiful stories we hear inspire us, give us faith, and move our hearts. We believe we have the tools, life experience, and strength in our relationship to embark on this journey with you.
