dear expectant mother

We hope this message finds you in good health and spirits, we are so grateful that you are considering us as prospective parents. Although we can’t possibly imagine how you are feeling, we want you to know that we are open to being open. We look forward to creating a relationship that makes everyone comfortable, and that is beneficial to all.

Coming from two different backgrounds has crafted us into a culturally sensitive couple. We understand the importance of preserving and honoring your baby's culture, and are dedicated to doing so. Just as we have with our son, we promise to raise your baby to be a confident, honest, and loving child. Your child will be taught the value of family and the importance of always being there for each other.

From two people who have experienced adoption in different capacities, please know that your baby will always have the support that is needed during the tough times, and will be loved unconditionally at all times. We look forward to meeting you and beginning this journey together.

About Us

We met in 2017 through a mutual friend. After countless hours commuting since we lived five hours apart, Kristen moved to South Texas in 2018. Our son was born in 2018, and shortly after, we were married on the beach in Cuba in May 2019. Kristen was born and raised in Texas, and Giovanni (Gio) is a Los Angeles native. Kristen works remotely as an analyst, and Gio is a Marine Reservist who manages a CrossFit gym. We are a very active family that likes being outdoors. We enjoy working out, going to the farmer’s market, traveling, going to the beach, all things Disney (movies, theme parks, live shows), and spending time with our family and friends.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a brand-new development in a split-level home. Our home has four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a game room, an office/study, a living room, a garage gym, and a large backyard. We have two dogs and a cat (Ragnar the Great Dane, Rollo the Lab mix, and Phoebe the cat/boss). They all love kids and do a great job of protecting our family. We live within walking distance of the community pool, the elementary school, and the middle school your baby would eventually attend. The schools are some of the best in our area and were the main reason we moved to this smaller town.

Our Extended Family

Along with parents and grandparents, Kristen’s immediate family includes two brothers and a sister, who all live in Texas. Gio comes from a large extended family, but his immediate family includes his two sisters, also all in Texas. We really look forward to our annual fall and winter trips to North Texas, where we frequent the holiday attractions. Pumpkin patches, Santa Claus, Christmas lights, and the State Fair are among our favorites. Since most of Gio’s family lives within 20 minutes of us, we have family get-togethers and cousin sleepovers regularly. We also have many close friends we consider family, and we have “family” dinners with them each Sunday.

Our son, Graham (Bam), is an adventurous, intelligent, fearless two-year-old. He loves being outside, swimming, riding bikes, dinosaurs, airplanes, Mickey Mouse, and Barney. He is so looking forward to being a big brother; he even carries his baby doll around everywhere we go.

What Led Us To Adoption

On our very first date, we discovered we both had it on our hearts to adopt. Kristen’s younger sister is adopted, and she decided at a young age that she wanted to adopt a child. Gio was raised and adopted by his stepfather, which has inspired him to seek adoption. We have both seen firsthand how beautiful adoption is, and we both have experience with the trials and tribulations that come with it.
