We are Kyle and Josh. After meeting in high school, we have been together for nearly 13 years and married for 10 years. We have had two different career paths. While one of us is a financial controller, the other is more entrepreneurial and owns a nail salon. We both enjoy having a large vegetable and herb garden to cook with and to share with our friends and family. Both of us love being outdoors at the beach, fishing, kayaking, camping, or hiking to a waterfall.
Five years ago, we fell in love with the mountains and relocated to Tennessee from Florida, where we were both born and raised. Knowing that children were in our future, we did extensive research on the school systems and amenities in the area before our move and landed in a beautiful location. We were pleased to see that we are surrounded by many young families and that their little ones can safely play throughout the neighborhood. We have two wonderful and spoiled pets at home, a seven-year-old standard poodle and a three-year-old Persian cat. Our surrounding three cities offer plenty of parks, museums, sporting facilities, and outdoor adventures for our family.
Kyle is the oldest of three boys and grew up in a relatively small, tight-knit family. Growing up, most of their time was spent at the baseball field or at the school farm with their animals. Sadly, Kyle’s mother passed away at a young age. His father eventually remarried, bringing a wonderful stepsister to the family. His middle brother recently had his first child, making us first-time uncles.
Josh grew up in a much larger family with two sisters and three cousins along with both sets of parents. Josh and his sisters spent a lot of time in their family-owned salon with their grandmother and must have gained her artistic abilities as he and his middle sister are now in the same industry. Josh has many relatives who live close by in Tennessee and Virginia, including his mother and middle sister, who relocated shortly after our move.
Both of our immediate and extended families have been a huge part of our lives and were ecstatic when they heard about our plan to adopt. There will be no shortage of love and support from all of us as we grow our family.
We have always talked about raising children together and have decided adoption is the perfect way for us to grow our family. We have spent the past several years growing together and in our careers, and now it is time to expand our family. We could not be more excited for the opportunity to pour our love and lessons into another tiny soul and to watch them grow into their own.
