dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thanks for taking time to get to know us. It’s challenging to convey our quirks, interests, and love in just a few pages. But there’s so much more to us than these pages.

And we know there’s a lot about you as well. As you carry and care for your baby now, you want a future for your child that is full of promise and hope. As any mother, you want your child to be loved and cared for. You want them to grow up to be smart, compassionate, strong, and independent. Mom does know best.

It would be an honor for you to entrust us with raising your child. We can’t promise to be perfect, but we can promise to provide a safe and loving home where we make great memories and kids can be courageous and uniquely themselves.

We’re filled with anticipation and hope during this time. As we’ve been navigating adoption from our side, we’ve been preparing our home and hearts for our family to grow. But, we also have been keeping you, the expectant mother, in our hearts and minds.

Deciding whether to place your child for adoption is a tough and courageous decision. But, no matter what you choose, you’ve got your baby’s best interests at heart. And we couldn’t be more proud and supportive of you.

With love,
Kyle and Matthew

About Us

Matthew and Kyle both grew up in the Midwest and dreamed of more. Matthew lived on the family farm in Ohio, and Kyle lived in rural Illinois on the outskirts of Chicago. This dreaming of more led them to live in multiple places across the country until settling into the Northwest.

Matthew works on a college campus while Kyle works from home. We each seek to help bring out the best in others and help them recognize what makes them unique.

We love love love delicious and healthy food. We have been slowly turning our whole yard into an “urban farm.” Kyle dreams of the projects we do to our home. Matthew leads the charge with getting the work done and growing all of our plants. Meanwhile, Kyle is cooking away making a delicious treat and yummy meals.

We enjoy sharing simple moments as we walk our dog, Bub, through the neighborhood. We have been fortunate to have many loving friends and family members, and we are excited to share all of our love with a baby.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a city in the Pacific Northwest surrounded by nature. With a short, 20-minute drive, we can easily be in rolling farmland or a beautiful forest.

Funny enough, we live across the street from an elementary school and two city parks with awesome play equipment are also within walking distance. We plan to frequent the parks daily!

We like to think we have the cutest house on the block. We have six chickens that lay eggs and a large vegetable and flower garden.

Our Extended Family

Kyle is the oldest sibling in his family and has two younger sisters. His parents have been married for 35 years and work as an electrician and gardener.

Matthew is the middle child of three brothers. His parents have been married for 41 years and are a farmer and retired art teacher.

Even though our families live in a different state, we visit regularly. Kyle loves planning trips to visit family regularly and our families love when we visit.

We each have lots of people in our extended families, and because of that, Christmas is a big holiday with baking and cooking traditions, games, gifts, and lots of laughter.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have both always seen ourselves as parents. We are both over 6 feet tall, but you can often find us crouching down to talk to our friends’ children and promptly lifting them into the air as they giggle with joy.

We love helping support our friends’ families by brushing teeth, reading bedtime stories with funny voices, digging in the dirt, sledding down steep hills (you name it, we probably do it).

We are excited to create these memories with a family of our own. We’d be honored to have the opportunity to love and raise a child in our home, where they can be encouraged and uplifted to be their unique self.
