dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

You are a courageous person! We are proud of you, and we are honored by you. We deeply appreciate the way you want to support your child. This is a tough letter to write because we don’t know you yet. Sure, we may be able to guess that you are stressed, overwhelmed, scared, or a whole bunch of other emotions. But regardless of who you are or how you are feeling right now, we want you to know we have very fond feelings for you. You are important.

As you consider who you’d like to raise your child, we promise to take the time and care to know your child. We want to understand their quirks and personality as they grow. You are making a courageous and loving decision to choose adoption for your child, and we are committed to creating a loving and stable home that provides for the unique needs of your child, if you choose us.

We strive to make the world a little better and a little brighter each day for our family, friends, and community. We can only hope to spread some of this goodness to you and your child in this new relationship.

With gratitude,
Kyle & Matthew

We’d be honored to have the opportunity to love and raise a child in our home, where they can be encouraged and uplifted to be their unique self.

About Us

Matthew grew up on a farm in Ohio and Kyle on the outskirts of Chicago. We both have jobs supporting college students through their challenges in life and school. Matthew works at a university in our midsize city, and Kyle works with a non-profit. We love delicious and healthy food. Kyle makes almost everything from scratch using many ingredients that Matthew grows in our garden. We often find ourselves dreaming about or working on the next project that will make our home more useful, beautiful, and welcoming for friends and family. We enjoy laughing together and sharing simple moments as we walk our dog, Bub, through the neighborhood. We have been blessed with many loving friends and family members and are excited to share this love we’ve been given with a baby.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a mid-sized city in the Pacific Northwest. Our city offers a variety of arts and culture events and organizations that we enjoy. An elementary school is across the street from our house, and two city parks with awesome play equipment are within walking distance. Neighbors tell us we have the cutest house on the block. We have six chickens that lay eggs and a large vegetable garden. With a short, 20-minute drive, we can easily be in rolling farmland or a beautiful forest. Our dog, Bub, is very gentle and lovable.

Our Extended Family

Kyle is the oldest sibling in his family and has two younger sisters. His parents have been married for 35 years and work as an electrician and gardener. Matthew is the middle child of three brothers. His parents have been married for 41 years and are a farmer and retired art teacher.

We each have lots of people in our extended families, and because of that, Christmas is a big holiday with baking and cooking traditions, games, gifts, and lots of laughter.

What Led Us To Adoption

For a long time, we have imagined raising a family together, and we are so excited to share our love with a child. We have several close friends with small children and have loved every visit, when we get to read bedtime stories with different voices, dig in the dirt, and sled down hills. We are excited to create these memories with a family of our own. We’d be honored to have the opportunity to love and raise a child in our home, where they can be encouraged and uplifted to be their unique self.
