dear expectant mother

This must be one of the most difficult decisions of your life. I want you to know you’re brave, and I respect you. This is the greatest gift you could give. It is a gift I could never repay if you choose me. All I can do is give you my promise that I and my family will love this child with our whole being.

While I can’t know how you’re feeling about this decision, I want to share with you how I feel about choosing to adopt. Adoption has been something I have been researching and praying about for a long time. I have always wanted to be a mom, and having an opportunity to become one through adoption can be a lengthy process, a little scary, and exciting. There are no certainties that an expectant mother will choose me. What keeps me going is the future I envision of being a mom. This future is full of excitement, and I am hopeful it’s a wish that comes true.

This is a big decision for you, and adoption is also a big decision for me. While you don’t know me and I don’t know you, what I do know is that we are two women who want the best for a child. Whatever that “best” is, we will both know that someone out there is providing it for this child. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your bravery, courage, and selflessness.

About Me

I’m an energetic, fun-loving individual who strives to help others become the best versions of themselves. I’m a passionate person, and once I set a goal, I work until I achieve it. I work for a global education company as a regional director. I oversee a team of eight individuals who work hard and make my job easy so we can provide affordable educational materials to students. I enjoy traveling, reading, art, and being outdoors, either by the water or on a golf course. I’m also a high school basketball coach. Coaching is a love of mine because it combines my passion for the sport I adore and the reward of helping the youth of my community. I’ve coached some of the best basketball players in the state, who have gone on to play and make a name for themselves at the next level.

My Home & Pets

My home is warm, safe, and welcoming. I love to host family and friends for a meal, game night, or good conversation. I have two mini goldendoodles, Lucy and Crimson, who love walks, car rides, and playing outside in my large, fenced backyard. I live in an affluent neighborhood with many young families with children. My city offers miles of trails, a kids museum, an indoor playground, and multiple parks, and hosts various festivals throughout the year. We have a diverse set of opportunities for families and youth to explore, from arts and sciences to play and recreation. We have a top-notch school district. What makes my city special is the way the tight-knit community is welcoming and inclusive to locals and visitors.

My Extended Family

My extended family is very close and supportive of one another. Our family gatherings include both my mom’s and my dad’s extended families. My cousins are like my siblings, and their kids are like my nieces and nephews. I am a godmother to my aunt’s three kids and have always been actively involved in their lives. I have already asked them to be the godparents of my adoptive child, and they are overwhelmed with excitement!

We enjoy playing pickleball, board games, puzzles, family BBQs, swimming, and vacationing together. Our family traditions are to host Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day parties, where we eat great food, swim, and play games. We go on vacation to the beach together in the fall, spring, and summer. We spend our days exploring, riding bikes, and enjoying each other’s company. Over Christmas and Thanksgiving, we spend multiple days together leading up to the holiday as well as after. We cook, bake cookies, sing, and do crafts together. All of my extended family lives within an hour of me. This enables us to remain close, spend quality time together, and support one another in all ways.

What Led Me To Adoption

I am very excited to start my adoption journey. I have always wanted to be a mommy and nurture a child. I am looking forward to the opportunity to pour all of my love into a little one. I came to the decision to adopt because I cannot have biological children. I did a lot of research, consulted with several other moms who have adopted, checked into surrogacy, and really took time to reflect on my belief system. I believe there is a woman carrying a child who would graciously place her trust in me and allow me the greatest opportunity of my life: to serve as the mom to her child. This act of selflessness would be my greatest honor.
