dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We truly understand that choosing a family for your baby is one of the most significant decisions you will ever make. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for considering us to be that family. Please know that we have devoted years to creating a loving and nurturing home, where a child can flourish and grow. We recognize that it must be incredibly difficult to choose a family without knowing them personally, and we respect the immense trust you place in whoever you select. We want to reassure you that we are committed to being the best parents and advocates for your baby, and we will work tirelessly to honor that role. If you feel comfortable, we would love the opportunity to maintain a relationship over the years. We believe that your child will thrive with the love of two nurturing dads and the involvement of their birth mom, and we wholeheartedly support the idea of fostering that unique bond within our modern family.

Take care and be well,
Lance and Oliver

About Us

We’re an adventurous couple who loves hitting the slopes, exploring hiking trails, and sailing. Lance is a firefighter who really cares about helping his community and shows it every day through his work. Oliver is a creative entrepreneur from a family of artists and feels good about keeping that tradition alive. We love hanging out with our family and friends and often have get-togethers at our island farm in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Our Home & Pets

We spend our days wandering around the neighborhood with our dogs, Tahoe, a Great Dane that has spots like a Dalmatian, and GirlScout, our new puppy Bernese Mountain Dog. The island is packed with trails, beaches, and parks, plus there are national forests and a national park not too far away. At our farm, we take care of our three goats, 15 chickens, and nine ducks, and we love working in our beautiful gardens. We're really looking forward to our kids going to the island's schools, which are some of the best in Washington. Our community is tight-knit and all about family.

Our Extended Family

We have a large family of eight siblings, ten nieces and nephews, and a huge extended family. Most of them live in our state and within an hour’s drive. Holidays and birthdays are big events and usually include themes and lots of planning. We have monthly farm dinners with food we’ve grown, crabfest and other foraging and fishing events where we gather our own food, and events to celebrate life’s big and little achievements as well as movie and game nights.

What Led Us To Adoption

After exploring various options for starting a family, we felt a calling to adopt. We have created a loving and safe home, eager to share that warmth with a child. Our vision of a future family includes two children playing together, supporting each other, and being lifelong best friends. We deeply value our own siblings and wish for our children to share that precious bond.
