dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We understand this is one of the biggest decisions of your life and want to thank you for considering us as a home for your baby. You can rest easy knowing we have been preparing for years to create a home and environment where a child can thrive and grow. It must be so hard for you to choose a family without knowing them, and your decision comes with a great amount of trust in whomever you choose. We want to assure you we will spend the rest of our lives working hard to be the best parents and advocates for your baby.

If you’re willing, we would love to maintain a relationship throughout the years. We understand that your child will benefit from having two loving dads and a birthmom in the picture and want to give them the most love possible. Our big families are so thrilled to welcome your baby into our big, loving group, and we want to thank you for considering us. We hope to chat with you soon.

Take care and be well,
Lance and Oliver

About Us

We’re an adventurous couple who loves to snowboard, hike, and sail. Lance is a firefighter who values compassion and service to his community and shows this every day through his work. Oliver is a creative entrepreneur who is from a family of artists and is happy to continue the family tradition. We love our network of people and have regular social gatherings with our family and friends at our island farm in the Pacific Northwest.

Our Home & Pets

We spend our days exploring the neighborhood with our dogs, Tahoe, a dalmation-like Great Dane, and Buoy, a golden retriever. There are many trails, beaches, and parks all across the island, and there are many national forests and even a national park within driving distance. At our farm, we love taking care of our three goats, 15 chickens, and nine ducks as well as our beautiful gardens. We’re excited for our kids to attend the island’s schools, which are some of the top-rated schools in Washington. Our community is tight knit and family oriented.

Our Extended Family

We have a large family of eight siblings, ten nieces and nephews, and a huge extended family. Most of them live in our state and within an hour’s drive. Holidays and birthdays are big events and usually include themes and lots of planning. We have monthly farm dinners with food we’ve grown, crabfest and other foraging and fishing events where we gather our own food, and events to celebrate life’s big and little achievements as well as movie and game nights.

What Led Us To Adoption

After researching all the different options for starting a family, we felt inspired to adopt. We have created a loving and safe home and want nothing more than to share that with a child. When we envision our future family, we see two children playing together, protecting each other, and being forever best friends. We both value our siblings and hope our children get that same experience.
