dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for what you’re doing, and thank you for simply viewing our profile. The difficult yet brave and selfless decision you are making does not go unnoticed. Our hope is to make this choice somewhat easier for you by letting you know your blessing of a child will be loved unconditionally by so many people.

If you choose us to be the parents, we promise to raise them to be whoever they want to be and guide them every step of the way with nothing but kindness and love. We promise to teach them to see all the good in this crazy world and to treat everyone they meet with kindness and respect. We vow to be this child’s support system and their best friends. We promise to give them a life full of love, laughter, happiness, and every childhood experience. You can rest assured knowing your child will be the center of our world. If you choose us to parent your child, no day will pass when we won’t acknowledge the miracle you gave to our family.

We cannot imagine the many emotions you are feeling at this moment, but we hope to get the opportunity to meet you so we can ease your heart and mind. By you taking time to view our profile, we already have nothing but love and admiration for you, and we are so excited to meet you.

We’ve prepared our hearts to love your child unconditionally forever. We know our lives will never be the same, and we are more than ready to embrace every second of what will be our new normal.

About Us

What started off as two friends watching movies and going to sporting events eventually turned into an inseparable love. In June 2013 Dustin proposed in front of all our closest friends and family then in March 2015 we got married under a rose-filled gazebo. We’ve never looked back. We both work hard to financially provide as well as continue to ensure our home is a happy and healthy one. However, the importance of having fun is not neglected. One of our favorite things is turning on music and having dance parties in the kitchen, although our teenage girls don’t think our dance moves are that cool anymore. If we aren’t busting a move in the kitchen, we’re probably all snuggled on the couch watching Netflix quoting every line to The Office or Parks and Rec. We want our kids to look at our marriage as what marriage should be.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is in the middle of our dream neighborhood, with so many other couples and their children always out and about. It has a playground and a swimming pool, which is perfect in the summertime. A favorite thing about our home is the tall ceilings that allow us to have a really large Christmas tree in the living room for the holidays. Also, our backyard is big and fenced in, so when Dustin is grilling out and Lauren is throwing the softball with the girls, Sammie, our sweet, perfect snuggle puppy, can run around. About three years ago, we rescued him from the animal shelter, but we all believe he rescued us instead.

Our Extended Family

Our extended family is the best part about us. From the day we introduced them, they’ve meshed so well. They are all our biggest fans and the best support system anyone could ask for. On Christmas Eve every year the house is full of family, food, and presents—lots and lots of presents. Yes, they’ve spoiled our girls, and they can’t wait to spoil the next little one as well!

Lauren has four siblings ranging from ages 32 to 14 and two of the most loving and supportive parents one could ever imagine. Dustin’s parents have a house with a lot of land where we spend Sundays playing four square, riding four wheelers, and cooking out. Each member on both sides of our families is ecstatic for this precious addition to our family.

During the summer we go on family beach vacations where we all relax and soak up the sun together as one big family. We speak for everyone when we say, we are all excited to have a precious baby to jump waves and build sandcastles with.

What Led Us To Adoption

For us, adoption was never a backup plan—it was the plan. It was placed on our hearts years ago and just never went away. If anything, the urge to adopt grew stronger and stronger in our minds and on our hearts. Lauren legally adopted Dustin’s biological children, Allie (14) and Hannah (12), when they were 10 and 8 years old. She cannot imagine her life without them. We’ve prepared our hearts to love your child unconditionally forever. We know our lives will never be the same, and we are more than ready to embrace every second of what will be our new normal.
