dear expectant mother

As I begin to write this letter, I am imagining we are sitting across the table from one another at a little cafe. I would look into your eyes with tears in my own, and acknowledge the challenging decisions you are facing.

There are so many things I would like to say to you, to reassure you. I pray you have people alongside you, caring for you and offering the love and support that you need. Should you choose to entrust your little one with me, I will forever consider that the greatest of blessings! I would tell you how deeply thankful I am to be part of your story. I am excited to be adding to my family through adoption.

Your baby will always know love. They will grow up knowing that they are supported and cared for every step of the way. You have shown so much love in these months that you have been carrying your child. My deepest desire is to build upon that love; I believe love is the basis from which everything else is built. Please know how very important you already are to me; you will always be a very special part of your baby's story! Your baby will grow up knowing their story began because of the deep love you have for them. Thank you for considering me as an extension of your love.

With prayer and gratitude, Lisa

About Me

Hello, I'm Lisa! I'm an easy-going, fun-loving individual who is so excited to share my love and home with a little one. I am currently a kindergarten teacher and it truly is a dream job for me. I find immense fulfillment in nurturing their young minds and fostering a love of learning. Their sense of wonder, curiosity, and excitement for life inspire me every day! When not in my classroom, you will probably find me outside exploring the great outdoors, or a fun waterfront town. Reading at a cute cafe, kayaking, or hiking with friends are some of my favorite things to do. I also enjoy traveling! I have friends and family all over and enjoy taking time to go visit them. Whether it's a weekend road trip, or something more extensive, I'm always ready to go! I'm also always ready to return to the comforts of home.

My Home & Neighborhood

I live in a cozy two-bedroom townhouse with large spacious windows, bringing in lots of natural light and space for plants to grow! My home is just minutes away from the downtown waterfront and the elementary school where I teach. I live in a beautiful area of the Pacific Northwest, known for its greenery and mild weather. From my house, it's just a short drive to the mountains, the rainforest, or the ocean. I'm close to Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver (Canada). This leads to many great adventures and opportunities for friends and family to visit!

I don't have any pets of my own right now, but animals are always part of my life. My friend's pets are great walking companions and amazing cuddlers!

My Family & Friends

Doing life with those you love is such a blessing! My parents each had four siblings and so did I! Large family gatherings with all the aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandchildren are a common occurrence, and I love every minute of it! I believe you can never have too many people to love, or to love you! Knowing there are people to celebrate life with, or turn to for support when needed, is truly the best. My family "extends" far beyond that of a traditional family. I have many friends who are as close as family, and I don't know what I would do without them. We enjoy making up our own unique and often silly traditions, summer camping trips, and creating memories simply gathered together around our dining room tables.

My sisters and I are very close; we text and talk often. There typically isn't a day that we don't all hear from one another. We gather for all big holidays, special events, and to celebrate birthdays!

What Led Me To Adoption

Adoption has always been on my heart. I have many family/friends that were adopted, or have adopted. As a child, my parents also did foster care, and although each child was reunited with their families, adoption was always something we thought about. I have seen the many blessings adoption can have on so many lives.

Making the decision to adopt right now is about creating the life that I truly want. I have a great job, wonderful supportive community, and while being married would probably be great, the one thing that I feel is missing in my life is having a child to love unconditionally. I truly believe that I am on the path I was always meant to follow, turning my dream into reality!
