dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for looking at our profile! We hope this letter finds you and your baby healthy and with love and support. We would hate to write this letter based on presumptions. Having never met, we couldn’t begin to appreciate your journey to our profile. We can only imagine the weight you must be carrying with a decision like this on your mind. Our hearts go out to you as you consider the best option for you and your precious child.

It seems disrespectful of us to be excited and joyous at the prospect of adopting when your decision to afford us that opportunity is likely the opposite. There is very little we can say here that could ease your pain and anxiety, aside from acknowledging it.
What we can offer is peace of mind. We will do everything in our power to provide them all the opportunities. Your role in making us fathers is irreplaceable, and that role will never be diminished in our eyes. If you’re open to it, we would love the opportunity to connect and get to know you on a personal level.

Warmest regards,
Logan & Michael

About Us

Our first date ended up being a series of adjustments. Between the weather, Logan forgetting his wallet, and needing to locate a place that actually served food, nothing went according to plan. What exceeded expectations, though, was the ease by which both of us were able to adapt. With Logan being quick on his feet and Michael having a calming demeanor, that night highlighted our compatibility. The perfection we found in the imperfections on our first date really shows our outlook on life. We truly try to live life as it happens. In his professional life, Logan is a sales manager at an independent insurance agency and a licensed realtor for a large brokerage in Iowa. Michael is a data architect at an incentives company. He designs and builds databases for reporting and analysis to help drive company decisions.

Our Home & Pets

Two years ago we purchased our dream house. To be fair, it was far from a dream house, but we saw endless potential to make it the home we knew it could be. We spent 18 months remodeling it. Simply put, our home was designed and built around the many memories we want to create with our future family. Walker and Frankie are our two dogs. Walker is old and a cairn terrier, while Frankie is his baby sister. Both have similar personality traits but are very much their own selves. Their favorite part of any day is the daily walk we take around the neighborhood. During the summer months, they enjoy visiting their neighborhood dog friends.

Our Extended Family

Logan comes from a small family. His parents live approximately five minutes away, and his sister and her family live even closer than that. Logan’s sister and her husband have three kids, ages ten, five, and three. Given the close proximity to them, we see them all the time, sometimes planned and sometimes as an impromptu run-in at Target.

Michael comes from a similarly small family. His parents live on their family acreage in the small Iowa town where he grew up with his sister. His sister and her husband now live just down the street from us, and we get together with them often as well.

One of our favorite traditions as a couple stems from Michael’s childhood. Growing up, Michael decorated his family acreage with thousands of Christmas lights. He even made the local paper! His mother would be quick to say she had no idea her encouragement would grow into what it is today. This year, Michael put up 23,516 lights and purchased another 23,400 lights on clearance to double the display for next year.

What Led Us To Adoption

As a couple, we have been so fortunate in many ways. Between a deep love, incredible support group, strong work ethic, and overt passion for life, there has been little we have not been able to figure out. What we cannot accomplish even in spite of all of those fortunes, though, is the ability to share these experiences with a child. We want to nurture our love, support, ethics, and passion with another human being, and we feel adoption provides us the best avenue to do just that.
