dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you so much for your brave and selfless decision to consider adoption. While this is the most exciting time of our lives, we know it’s likely an incredibly difficult time for you. We deeply appreciate you taking the time to learn about our story and consider us to lovingly parent your baby.

We have so much love to give and want to provide your child with the space to be themselves and the structure to safely explore the world. We want to raise your child on the foundation of kindness, empathy, and curiosity and to provide opportunities for them to learn and grow into the best version of themselves.

We’ve been preparing for parenthood for a long time and are ready to be a mom and dad. We have stable finances and careers; we both work from home and will be active in your child’s life. We recently bought our forever home with a family in mind. It even has a big yard to run and play in. We have an amazing support system and community that is excited to welcome a new baby and support us as we grow together as a family. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to adopt. Becoming parents will transform our lives, and we’re deeply grateful to you for your consideration.

We have so much love to give and want to provide your child with the space to be themselves and the structure to safely explore the world.

About Us

We got married four years ago after meeting online; we worked at the same large office but never would have connected without social media. Whether we’re crafting artisanal soap to gift to friends, cooking concoctions we made up ourselves, or getting lost in Hawaii, we always find some hilarity and learn something along the way. Gago is a software engineer at a financial tech firm; he loves hobby farming, board games, and tinkering with electronics. Lucy is a consultant who helps big companies improve their clients’ experiences. She loves sculpting, spending time with family and friends, and reading a book a day. On less exciting days, we work side by side in our home office, play with our pets, cook something yummy, and unwind on the porch. We’re excited to grow our family and share our adventures, big and small, with our future child.

Our Home & Pets

We live with our yellow Lab, Jansen, in a cozy log home surrounded by trees; our small flock of friendly chickens and tiny herd of alpacas keep us on our toes. We often play games or share a meal with our fun-loving neighbors and share eggs and fresh produce within our little community. Living in the country means we get to participate in cute town events like the farmers market, monthly art shows, and the county fair. We have lots of nature to explore, with kayaking in the summer, sledding in the winter, and apple picking in the fall. We also live a short hour from the city; we go often to see live theater, visit museums, and eat great food.

Our Extended Family

Lucy: My mom, dad, and sister are beyond excited to welcome a new family member! My mom’s a professional artist; she expresses herself through bright, colorful fashion and adores her “grand-pets.” My dad loves science and DIYs. We call him Mr. Fix-It because he can fix anything! They live down the road, and we get together often to play games, share meals, and do projects. My sister lives in the city. My favorite time of year is our Christmas sleepover. We play games, bake cookies, and watch old movies in matching pjs.

Gago: My big family includes my parents, brother, grandma, aunts, uncles, and seven cousins. My family in the U.S. lives in NYC and Boston. We call and FaceTime often. I bond with my mom over gardening and with my dad over DIYs. My brother’s five years younger than me. We love to laugh and joke around. We’re bilingual and often speak Armenian together. When we visit, we cook Armenian BBQ to celebrate. New Year’s is our biggest holiday; we dance, eat, and exchange gifts at midnight when Father Winter drops them at the door. My family’s excited to share traditions with the next generation!

What Led Us To Adoption

We are so excited to grow our family through adoption! It’s been our plan since we first met, and we’re thrilled to take the next step into parenthood. We’ve always wanted a big family and recently purchased our forever home with that in mind. We have stable careers, a strong foundation, and a whole lot of love to give. Some of our closest friends’ families were grown through adoption, so we’ve seen firsthand what a wonderful gift it will be. They’re excited to support us, and we’re excited to learn from their perspectives throughout this journey.
