Dear Expectant Mother,

We’d love to welcome you to our family! We know you have a lot on your mind and heart right now, and we are grateful you are taking the time to get to know us and to imagine what it would be like for us to raise your child. Of course, you won’t have to imagine it completely because you will always have a place in your child’s life and in ours should you choose to. But for now, here are some more details for your imagination.

Your child will be loved unconditionally by us and our extended families, no matter who they are. We will raise your child to help people who need it, to love and care for animals, and to see the best in everyone. We will also make room for your child to have an active imagination, especially about how the world could be a better place and how to bring that about. We will instill the values of compassion and care that we learned in church and synagogue as well. We will also support them in whatever pursuits they find meaningful.

We value education and will ensure that your child has access to the best education available. To us, education includes creative pursuits like the arts, music, and writing. It also includes an appreciation of nature, other cultures, and, most importantly, empathy. Temperamentally, we are relationship builders, and we will help your child build connections and nourish them. We imagine you may want to be one of those connections, and if so, we welcome you.
