Marisol & David

Family Type: Heterosexual Couple
State we live in: Texas

dear expectant mother

There are so many things we would like to say to you as you go through this process. We thank you for considering us as potential parents for your child and wish to express how much happiness your child will bring into our lives.

We have been together for around eight years, and from the beginning, we always knew we wanted children. Our goal was to create a happy life with each other and build a great foundation to be able to welcome a child into our family. We will provide a wonderful life for a child as we watch them learn, grow, and experience all of the good things in life. We’ve built our careers to the point where we are in positions that offer financial security, generous time off to spend with family, and freedom from stress so we can focus on the most important things: love, life, and family. When buying our house, we researched neighborhoods and schools to ensure our child will have great opportunities. Our extended family, many of whom live close by, have already expressed much enthusiasm, excitement, and support for our decision to adopt and would welcome any child we have the opportunity to parent.

We understand this is a big decision and appreciate you taking the time to read this. We really can’t overstate our respect for you and the gift you may provide us, and we hope to get to know you soon to continue the journey together.

About Us

We met through work eight years ago and found we are very compatible in hobbies, interests, and everything that makes a relationship work. An opportunity arose for us to work at a new international tech company together, where we have been able to advance our careers these last several years. Marisol is a senior technical project manager dealing with our biggest clients in Europe, and David works as an advanced engineer in network operations, making sure all of the websites stay up. We both love watching sports, reading, and especially traveling, having been to a dozen different countries; we are excited to experience many more as a family. Marisol enjoys classical music (including playing the violin), reading science fiction, and going to art museums. She speaks multiple languages and has a deep interest in history and culture. David likes learning about technology and electronics, visiting family, and playing board games.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a new two-story, three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom house with an open kitchen/living area and a nice backyard with privacy fencing. Our neighborhood is composed mostly of families and is maintained by a very active homeowners association that oversees the neighborhood children’s park, walking trails, and duck pond. We share our home with a three-year-old silver Labrador, a black whippet mix, and three cats, all of whom get along with children and adults. The neighborhood elementary is a few blocks from our house and has an overall exemplary rating.

Our Extended Family

We come from similar families, each one having parents that have been married over 30 years and are still going strong. Marisol has one older brother and a niece, while David has one older sister and two nephews. We spend most holidays, including birthdays, Thanksgiving, Easter, Fourth of July, and Christmas, with our extended families on both sides and have many aunts, uncles, and cousins. We enjoy cooking, playing games, and keeping in touch with one another on a regular basis. Our extended families are a tight-knit bunch that love to have a fun time while always caring for each other whenever someone is in need.

Marisol’s parents live within a few miles of us, and we frequently travel abroad with them, having most recently visited Spain, Germany, Italy, Austria, and Mexico City together. We also make it a point to regularly travel a few hours north to visit David’s family, who live in Texas. One of our family traditions includes traveling to Texas for David’s birthday, which falls very close to the Fourth of July. We have a picnic and watch the yearly fireworks display at the park.

What Led Us To Adoption

Early in our relationship, we both agreed we wanted children, and we wanted to wait until we were able to provide our child with a good home and life, both in terms of finances and being able to spend as much time with them as possible. Having done that, we're extremely excited to begin this new part of our lives. We’ve always known adoption was the path meant for us to grow our family instead of the uncertainty of fertility treatments. We've shared our adoption plans with our families and have received tremendous support and enthusiasm.
