Megan & Drew

Family Type: Heterosexual Couple
State We live in: Illinois

dear expectant mother

I wish we had the capability to step into your shoes and feel exactly what you feel, as you consider your options. While no words can make your journey easier, we can say this: if you see us as the right fit for your little one, your child will not go a single day without our love and gratitude.

On only our second date, we discussed our desire for children. We learned very quickly how much our values aligned. Our road to parenthood has been a traumatic ride, but with humor, emotional resilience, and compassion, we are here. Our hope is that you can give yourself the same level of compassion.

Our home is filled with laughter, good food, a ridiculous amount of books, and a ridiculous amount of love! It is a safe space where we can be ourselves. We aim to give you hope that the child you are growing will continue to grow in our home. Your child will have access to the best education, health care, and a home in one of the safest towns in Illinois. Most importantly, we want your sweet baby to know that every step of the way, they have a birth mother and two adoptive parents who would move mountains for them.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.

Our Love Story

We met on Match.com. Drew messaged Megan first, leading to us talking back and forth for a while. Drew eventually stopped replying, and Megan was very disappointed. She decided to go for it, and typed out a message asking to meet up. A few days later, Drew messaged Megan, asking her the same thing. This is when Megan realized that she had typed out her date invite, but never sent it! It was meant to be! We both knew this was something special by only the second date.

Although we are very different, we have the same values. Our personalities complement each other in a way that balances our marriage. We love the little life that we have built together, and know that our stability and unconditional love for each other will allow a child to thrive. We want to show our children what a healthy marriage looks like. We want to show them that any conflict or differences can be worked out in healthy ways, and that life is better when spent with someone you love.

Our Home & Neighborhood

We live in a cozy home with our three, silly cats—Duke, Pickles, and Cooper—who each have their own quirky personalities. We have worked hard to decorate our home in a way that represents us.

While we love our house, we love our town more. We are a short walk from the library, parks, and the downtown area. It is considered one of the safest towns in our state. We are also a 45-minute drive away from Chicago. We chose this area because of its school districts and small community. It is an ideal place for raising a family!

Our Family & Friends

We would not have been able to begin the adoption process, or push through our pregnancy losses, without our family and friends. There was never a time when we felt alone or unloved. We know that any children we have will experience the same, unwavering love (probably more!). We laugh a lot when we are with our loved ones, as we all have strong senses of humor. Megan is very close with her mom and sister, and Drew is close with his brothers and mom. We are big believers in making time for the important people in our lives, so we prioritize family time frequently. Drew's family has a monthly dinner where immediate and extended family members come together. This allows us to have a constant connection with them. We get to see our five nieces and nephews often, which we love. They bring us so much joy.

Our Favorite Adventures

We have been blessed with the ability to travel around the world. Our favorite trip was to Thailand. We had the once-in-a-lifetime experience of going to an elephant sanctuary, where we got to stand right next to the beautiful creatures. They also had a cat sanctuary with over 100 cats!

We have been to a lot of countries where it is normal for cats to be out and about. They are usually very friendly! We love to give them all names. In Thailand, we fed a cat, who decided to sit under our breakfast table, a ton of chicken sausage. Naturally, we named her Chicken Sausage!

Other than traveling, we love going to the movies, baseball games (Drew is a big sports fan), and trying new restaurants.
